I almost let the day slip by, but I refused to let Juneteenth end without sharing this. 💜✊🏾

Today is about freedom, and freedom has always been fought for. Our ancestors fought for it in chains. And in our community, the fight didn’t end there. People are still fighting for freedom every single day, whether that’s fighting for a seizure free life, fighting to bring awareness and education, fighting to change laws that fail us, or simply being living proof that you can thrive with epilepsy.

That’s what this carousel is. A celebration of freedom fighters and epilepsy warriors. From Harriet Tubman to Natalie Beavers and more, the advocates and trailblazers carrying this work forward right now. Black and brown people are diagnosed with epilepsy more often, yet too often get less access and less support. Those gaps weren’t an accident, and that means they can be undone. By us.

So read it. Save it. Send it to someone who needs to feel seen today. Your story matters, your voice matters, and you are not alone in this. We rise together, and we keep rising. 💜

Today, my nephew graduated from North Atlanta. I’m so incredibly proud of him. To know me is to know my nephews and nieces have always been my world!! And if ANYONE is deserving it’s Q!!! The way you pushed pass your trials and still showed up for YOURSELF!! Oweee you got a story to tell! I’ve been full of emotion today, but mostly overly excited, joyful and pure happiness watching you accomplish this goal. Again, I am sooooo proud of my babies!!! 🥹🤍🖤

And my Big K!! Kaleb graduated also and is heading to middle school. Good God time flies 💨
