Honored to have earned the endorsement of the Marin Independent Journal editorial board for Corte Madera Town Council! 🤍

In its endorsement, the IJ highlighted my experience as an elected school board trustee and my connection to the community as a parent raising three kids here.

The editorial board wrote:

“At this junction, the council needs that experience and her connection with the town’s younger households.”

That means a great deal to me. Serving on the school board has taught me so much about the responsibility of local governance: listening carefully, asking hard questions, understanding budgets and tradeoffs, and making thoughtful decisions on behalf of the community.

I’m running for Town Council because I believe that experience, along with a deep personal investment in Corte Madera’s future, is something meaningful I can bring to the Council.

There’s something pretty special about walking into your local bookstore to pick up a copy of your local newspaper because your name is in it…with an endorsement of your campaign for local government 🥹🤍

I’m incredibly honored to have earned the endorsement of the Marin Independent Journal editorial board for Corte Madera Town Council.

The editorial recognizes my experience as an elected school board trustee and my connection to this community as a parent raising three kids here. Those are two things that mean a great deal to me, and it’s especially meaningful to have them recognized as strengths I would bring to the Council.

With ballots arriving and just three weeks until Election Day, I’m feeling grateful, energized, and ready for the home stretch!

Last night’s Corte Madera Town Council Candidate Forum 🙌🏼

It was so great to see more than 100 community members show up, both in person and on Zoom, to hear from the candidates and learn more about the issues facing our town.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to share a little more about why I’m running, what I hope to bring to the Council, and the kind of thoughtful, collaborative leadership I believe our community deserves.

Thank you to everyone who attended, asked questions, and took the time to engage. And a big thank you to @cortemaderachamber for hosting! This is what local democracy is all about.

A weekend in Corte Madera 🤍

Knocked on my first round of doors (and discovered that canvassing is also an excellent way to see some truly impressive Halloween decorations), spent some time at Spark in the Park, walked through some beautiful corners of town, and came home to find the ballot guide waiting in the mail. 🗳️

It feels pretty surreal that voting is officially beginning. Over the next four weeks, I’ll be spending as much time as I can out in the community, knocking on doors, talking with neighbors, and listening.

And this Saturday, I’d love some company! We’re getting a group together to canvass Corte Madera on October 11. Whether you’ve knocked on 1,000 doors or zero, come join us. This race is happening at an important moment for our town, and I appreciated the opportunity to talk with the Marin Independent Journal about what good governance looks like to me.

Especially in Corte Madera right now, we’re talking a lot about “governance.” But what does that actually mean?

To me, a critical part of good governance is creating and protecting opportunities for residents to participate, listening even when the feedback is uncomfortable, being transparent about how and why decisions are made, and taking seriously the responsibility that comes with public office.

We won’t always agree on every decision. But residents should always feel that their voices were heard and their perspectives genuinely considered.

That’s the kind of leadership I hope to bring to the Town Council 🤍

Before I became a member, my first experience with MWPAC was as a candidate 🩵 I was incredibly grateful to receive the Marin Women’s Political Action Committee endorsement when I ran for School Board. It meant a lot to me then, and I’m so grateful to have their endorsement again in my race for Corte Madera Town Council.

MWPAC does the incredibly meaningful work of supporting the election of women and pro choice candidates up and down the ballot, building greater representation in elected leadership throughout Marin.
