🚨THE 9 AVALANCHE CHARACTERS ⚠️

Tag along Toby and Mike while they ski tour their way through the season and find the 9 kinds avalanche!

This is the longest comic we’ve made — and maybe the most important.

As the new season kicks off, let’s start with what matters:
👉 Refresh your skills
👉 Practice your rescue drills
👉 Revisit the basics
👉 Read your local avy forecast
👉 Invest in avalanche education

We’ll be here every week — with stories, Toby's bad calls, and other dramatic situations.

👇What problem do you find trickiest to recognize in the mountains? Let’s kick off the season right. by @avalanche_chronicles_comic

Backcountry skiing isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life. And Toby's working his way through it.

Follow our comic series to learn from Toby's misfortunes and bad calls. We hope you avoid all of them when riding the BC.

New comics every week!

Backcountry skiing calls on a pile of skills at once, such as skiing technique, navigation, route planning, first aid, avy rescue, snow science, group dynamics, rappelling, etc.

You gotta start somewhere, and keep stacking skills.

Every expert was once a beginner.

What's your next skill to develop in the backcountry? Comment below for Mike's advice ⬇️ by @avalanche_chronicles_comic

These two 🤍❄️🚨

Did you know orange and blue are complementary colors?

We purposely chose them to visually represent our characters opposite styles - from over analytical to pure stoke and excitement. by @avalanche_chronicles_comic
