Few architects have shaped modern design as profoundly as Mies van der Rohe 🏢

Born on this day in 1886, he was a pioneer of minimalism, and his work embodies clarity, precision, and a deep understanding of materials.
His architectural masterpieces, like the Seagram Building in New York and the Farnsworth House in Illinois, embrace open space, clean lines and a seamless connection between structure and environment.

His impact wasn’t limited to buildings - his furniture designs, including the instantly recognisable Barcelona Chair, are just as revered. Balancing form and function, they remain benchmarks of modernist design nearly a century later.
