@avantgallery opened its new Boca Raton home with an evening devoted to art, craft and the rituals of hospitality.

The occasion began, fittingly, with bread. Avant founder Dmitry Prut and Boca Raton Mayor @andythomsonboca presided over a ceremonial bread cutting at Sourdough Society, the artisanal bread shop that serves as an unexpected prelude to the gallery beyond.

Inside, Avant unveiled a new exhibition by @gabrielanoellestudio, whose imaginative practice transforms familiar forms and materials into sculptural works shaped by play, optimism and a sense of wonder. The evening also marked the debut of the Petrossian caviar experience, bringing one of Paris’s storied culinary houses into dialogue with contemporary art.

Before Memphis Milano became design history, Karl Lagerfeld was already living with it.

In the early 1980s, his Monte Carlo apartment became an extraordinary study in color, geometry and form—filled with pieces by Ettore Sottsass, Michele De Lucchi, George Sowden, Martine Bedin and Masanori Umeda.

Among them, Umeda’s now-iconic Tawaraya Ring: part furniture, part architecture, part provocation.

For Lagerfeld, collecting was never simply about decoration. It was about recognizing an idea early—and committing to it completely. Sotheby’s notes that he acquired almost the entire Memphis inventory before eventually selling the collection at auction in 1991.

It was an interior shaped by instinct rather than convention—bold, uncompromising and entirely personal.

CONVERSATION CORNER.

A room becomes more interesting when the art doesn’t all speak the same language.

Juliana Shaffia brings atmosphere and psychological tension through a large-scale canvas. Will Kurtz introduces texture, humor and physical presence through sculpture. Kaley Weil adds a smaller ceramic gesture—intimate in scale, sharp in attitude.

Together, the works create contrast without competition: painting, sculpture and object, each holding its own place.

Another #pjcfchampion Jordi Molla, an incredibly loved man who has become a member of our family, always carrying Perry’s card & sticker with him. Jordi has hosted exhibitions as close as Miami & Palm Beach and as far as Spain and Beirut to honor Perry and benefit the @perryjcohenfoundation • He calls himself Perry’s older brother and Perry his angel. Without hesitation, Jordi took on the assignment of being the big brother and watching over Perry’s sister @rennikorniloff while she attended graduate school in Madrid. We are forever grateful for knowing he was always there for her and us if needed. @jordimollaofficial is a multi talented performing and visual artist whose artwork is as intense, serious and as beautiful on the canvas as his artistry is on the screen. This art work embodies and embraces what Perry’s life was all about, and when Jordi and I spoke about this work we both knew that this was the perfect piece for the auction!
