Over the moon seeing our work in Hunger Magazine. Thank you @gina_gizella and @mikepecci for allowing me to be a part of one of the most awe-inspiring projects I have ever worked on. | #Repost @hungermagazine with @use.repost ใƒปใƒปใƒป METANOIA is an art project that wants you to unzip your skin and reveal the monsters inside. Originating as an elaborate photoset, the project expanded into an upcoming art gallery and short film directed by Mike Pecci (@mikepecci). Both embody the Gothic world of METANOIA where David Dastmalchian (@dastmalchian) and Sedona Legge (@sedonalegge) transform into a clockmaker trapped in his own mind and a demonic-angel hybrid set to free him. Not only did writer Gerard Johnstone place our favorite killer doll in wild new situationsโ€”giving us the chance to create fresh looksโ€”but we also completely overhauled her animatronics, lip-syncing, and movement control systems by bringing robotics genius Mark Setrakian onto our team. Seen here is one of M3GANโ€™s new looks: trying to blend in at a tech and AI convention wearing a... cyber robot disguise! How we brought her to life on set was similar to the methodology we had use on the first movie: -Animatronics: Used for medium and close-up dialogue shots, or wide shots where sheโ€™s standing still. -Stunt Double & Actor: When the action called for walking, running, or full-on kung-fu, the incredibly talented Amie Donald stepped in wearing a M3GAN mask, gloves, and costume. -The Mask worn by Amie was then animated in post production by the vfx team to complete the illusion seamlessly. I never got the chance to properly thank everyone who brought this project to life at Morot FX Studio and on set. Apropos of dismantling the toxic positivity culture of social media professionalism, Iโ€™ll talk about one of the worst feelings you can experience as a creative. When you pour your heart and soul into a project and then it never sees the light of day. I am still very pleased with the makeups, the props and the ambiance I curated for what was once to become my first film that never was. And how much the brilliance of @johnorrtheactorist and @srodes13 made me cackle. We will bring this back one day. by @avemonsters
