The word “blessed” doesn’t begin to describe this summer. At one point, I was hoping my application would get denied… but after everything was said and done, I wouldn’t have traded this summer for anything the world could offer me. God moved in mighty ways because of and through the staff that was brought to Camp Caraway this summer, and I couldn’t consider myself luckier to have been a part of that. I don’t know if I will ever be lead back to Caraway, but one thing I do know is that a piece of my heart will live on here forever. - NORM out taken in Camp Caraway by @averyannas_

This feels unreal to say, but for the first time in my life I am no longer a swimmer for GFST. Swimming for Granite has been the best decision I have ever made in my life, as this team is what got me into swimming in the first place. It has been the only consistent team I have had, and through the highs and the lows, GFST has been there through it all. It will forever have a special place in my heart.

Now, for the first time in my life, it is time to support from a role other than as a swimmer. Once a Shark, always a Shark. by @averyannas_

After 13 years, I’m officially hanging the goggles up for good.

This has been an incredible journey throughout the majority of my life, and words will never be able to describe how much swimming has meant to me. Through the highs and the lows and the uncertainties of if I would ever even swim again; I couldn’t have asked for a better career, a better meet to go out on, or better teammates across every team I’ve ever been apart of. I want to thank my parents for supporting me through every moment of it, every coach that has ever had a role to play in my training, and each and every one of my teammates, whether pictured or not, for how much you’ve meant to me throughout this wild ride. I also want to thank and praise God for giving me the abilities that I’ve had, and the opportunities to advance His mission because of swimming.

Big things to come in the future. In the meantime, I’ll be enjoying some green pastures and quiet streams for a while (Psalm 23).
