Thank you so much to @seder.stephen for trusting me to be part of this fantastic project, and for knowing that I would fit right in with the Players. IN TWO DAYS!!!!

I cannot believe it’s almost here. “Avery’s Lament: A Senior Recital” compiles the work I have put in over the past four years here at UCO. Sharing art is what I went to college for, and I’m so glad to do so in a vulnerable way.

an ode to guys and dolls

Thank you, first of all, Elizabeth Dragoo for holding faith in me to deliver as Miss Adelaide. I remember finding out the cast list, let alone the callback list, astonished in myself for having made it that far.

I remember letting the decision be in fate’s hands right after callbacks, as I was still healing from a recent surgical procedure when doing the dance call. The entire process has taught me to fake it until I make it, because juggling school work and a large role ontop of chronic health issues is no easy feat. Having made it through to the other side, I can confidently state how proud I am of myself along with everyone else involved in this beautiful show.

Several memorable moments were birthed from this show’s rehearsal process through it’s production. Noteably, me somehow busting my knees opening night during the blackout during curtain call. Shockingly, no audience member noticed, and everyone was stunned to see blood running down both knees when I pointed it out afterward. Is it ever truly a show if Avery doesn’t trip and fall in some way?

I’m incredibly grateful for this experience, and all the learning moments it brought to my life. It’s shows like this that remind me my love for theatre!!! by @averycmurph

been an eventful several months for the murphynation!

Ahhh Matilda.. Where do I start? This was probably.. one of the best if not THE BEST show I have ever performed in my life? I am so blessed to have been a part of this cast, and experience love and growth through all these lovely kids who are now very good friends of mine. I learned so much from everybody I met and I feel as if they made me a better person. Literally these children were true blessings in my life and THEY’RE ALL SO TALENTED💕💕 I just can’t believe it’s over now. I know that I won’t be able to remake any of the exciting craziness that happened on stage, but it’s forever on repeat in my heart, and it will be for a very VERY long time. Big thanks for the entire Matilda cast for making my life enhanced with joy and jokes, thank you Mrs. Mary Ann Morrow and Mrs. Charlotte Taylor for being insanely talented co directors, and thank you Mrs. Rachel Sullivan for teaching me the correct harmonies to When I Grow Up when I was insanely out of tune. I love you all 💜🖤💕 by @averycmurph
