Be jacked when you cross 40. Ya it’s shallow. But do it.

I turned 40 last year and honestly it hit me harder than I thought. Even though I was literally living my dream life, I think I got that first wave of feeling that life on earth has a shelf life.

Shallow redeeming factor? I was JACKED. And while that is shallow, it freaking helped.

So… if you’re under 39, strong recommendation… get your sh*t in order and enter your 40’s jacked AF. There’s a lot out of your control… you can almost certainly control this. by @avinkline

5 nights in Bled, Slovenia. Don’t sleep on Slovenia. Beautiful landscapes of green valleys and clear lakes under the peaks of the Julian Alps.

Avin Kline became the unspoken hero of this year’s Leadville 100 by putting Matthew Bickel’s journey ahead of his own.

Matthew’s story is already remarkable. He transformed his life from weighing 500 plus pounds to becoming an ultrarunner willing to take on one of the hardest endurance races in the world. Simply reaching the starting line of the Leadville 100 represented years of hard work, discipline, setbacks, growth, and an incredible amount of courage.

Avin understood what that moment meant for his friend. So instead of deferring his race until next year due to the course change, he decided to keep his bib and support Matthew.

Mile after mile, he stayed by his side, encouraging him, supporting him, and helping him keep moving forward when things became difficult.

They ultimately fell short of the finish line after nearly 50 miles, but that doesn’t tell the full story of the weekend.

Because sometimes the most meaningful moments in endurance sports have nothing to do with medals, podiums, or finishing times.

Sometimes they’re about friendship.

About showing up when someone needs you.

About being willing to sacrifice your own opportunity to help someone else chase theirs.

And about reminding someone that even when the official result says DNF, their journey is far from over.

Not Finished Yet - NFY.

Matthew left Leadville hungry, motivated, and more determined than ever to come back stronger.

And Avin left hungry to race next year, while showing everyone watching exactly what it means to be a great friend.

Not every hero crosses the finish line first.

Some choose to run beside you.

Love you both, and I can’t wait to see this story unfold. Leadville 2027 should be a fun one. #leadville100 #ultrarunners #friendship #hero taken in Leadville, Colorado by @avinkline

LEADVILLE. I’m saying goodbye to this town in the best way I know how… one last burger from Wild Bills… most of my big training efforts ended with a Wild Bills burger.

I’ve stacked over 300 miles on the Leadville 100 course this summer.

But since I decided not to race this year, I’m leaving this town with neither victory (buckle) nor defeat (DNF). Which, honestly, probably feels worse than defeat.

Heading to Europe soon… and probably not back to Leadville until next summer.

I’m looking forward to coming back here in 2027 and not leaving without some dust, sweat, and maybe a little blood.

I will know victory or defeat.

See ya next year, Leadville āœŒļø. taken in Leadville, Colorado by @avinkline
