When I think about defining forces in my life, I will always name Teach for America. Spending two years in a classroom in North Philly forever changed the way I think about myself and how I think about education and its role in our lives, Teach for America fundamentally changed my life’s direction and I’m grateful for it. This weekend meant so much to me to see lifelong friends, colleagues, mentors role, models, clients, teammates, all of the above. These are my people. This is my work. ❤️💙 taken in Las Vegas, Nevada by @avione

Avione Brown Pichon, a Greater Philadelphia ‘03 alum now based in Greater New Orleans, continues her commitment to service as a law professor and partner at @themanagementcenter . She’s heading to the 35th Anniversary Summit to be surrounded by like-minded people, tap into a deep network, and get grounded in her WHY!

For Avione, being a TFA alum means “you’ve seen behind the curtain of American education and you cannot unsee it.”

We’re excited to celebrate the legacy of TFA, reconnect with CMs and alumni from across the nation!

Will we see you at the Summit?

Goodbye summer ☀️!!! Pichons went back to NYC 🗽for a whirlwind trip that included seeing Every Brilliant Thing with Tracee Ellis Ross - we got in right before her stint in this one woman show ended, taking in so much history and culture at the New York Public Libraries including the Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, visiting the NY Times 📰offices to visit our professional culture connoisseur, and HU bestie Elena! Shopping in DUMBO, walking the Brooklyn Bridge 🌉 and so much more… We need like two weeks to connect my NYC area friends… so I am sorry!!! We even made an unexpected 10 hour stop in Philly (my old stomping grounds) when our flights were cancelled with zero alternatives available 😳 - at least there
were cheesesteaks! #igversion taken in New York City by @avione

Capping off a great summer! Josh spent a week learning CPR, sutures, meeting medical professionals and learning all about what it means to work in healthcare! He was even chosen to give a speech at the end! So proud of the man he is becoming! @ochsnercareers @staugnola - then he flew off to@FL for more basketball 🏀 @joshuuu0 (special thanks to our cousin @drapferrouillet always with great advice!) by @avione

Summer is for experiences! Took my baby to Georgetown University for a week long program on American Politics. He jumped in with both feet, excelled with the rigorous curriculum, made friends, gained inspiration and independence. I was so proud 🥹 but not surprised! And Big Mama got some work done with executive coaching clients that I normally only see on zoom and squeeze in fun with my Howard friends 💙❤️! So much love to @staugnola for preparing him and supporting him to do this! taken in Georgetown University by @avione
