In the spirit of National Latina Day, I want to take a moment to give thanks everyone who supported the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists’ 28th Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala, “Risas at the Ralston.” What a wonderful evening of laughter, celebration, and community! ♥️💜

Together, we raised more than $125,000 to support SAAHJ’s mission and future scholarships. Your generosity helps open doors for the next generation of journalists and strengthens the commitment to #MoreLatinosinNews.

From the laughter shared with Michelle Cantu Rodriguez and Valente Rodriguez, to celebrating eight inspiring scholarship recipients and honoring KLRN, Hector Saldaña, and the legacy of a dear friend and mentor Diana “DeeDee” Fuentes, the evening was truly special.

This successful event could not have been done without the leadership of the SAAHJ Board and Gala Committee members, who volunteer their time to continuing the mission.

They say if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to make a real impact in San Antonio, collaboration is the key! 🤝✨

San Antonio isn't just growing; it’s being transformed by the collective vision and grit of leaders who know that community impact starts with a strong narrative and a lot of corazón. We’re talking about the kind of leadership that balances high-level strategy with real human connection.

A massive shoutout to the women making waves through powerful partnerships:

✨ Avianca De La O from Halff
✨ Yvette Tello, Publisher of La Prensa Texas
✨ Laura Garcia, San Antonio Report
✨ Judy Razo & Cynthia Pena, Community First Health Plans
✨ Hot Henrietta, Texas Hall of Famer in Radio

Your commitment to community building shows that we are stronger together. We are so honored to collaborate and share this space with you!

Thank you to Vanessa Vasquez and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for an inspiring Part 2 of my evening. As one of the few minority women in media and production across both New York and Texas, moments like these truly matter. Grateful for the connections, the conversations, and the vision. Can’t wait to see what we build together next! 💫🎥 #LatinasInMedia #SAHCC #WomenInProduction #NYtoTX #PurposeDrivenWork @aviously_28 @sahispaniccc @vannessitav @ron_nirenberg taken in San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter by @aviously_28
