Hot off the press 🔥🥂 I want to take a special moment to celebrate Avril Henry @avrilhenry333 - the activist, author, change maker, Member of the Order of Australia, and mentor to global leaders.

This week, we launch her new book "Not All Diamonds Are Worn" to the world. It is available now at www.entouragemedia.ca, in Amazon, in local Sydney stores (list to come), and soon, stores worldwide!

Getting to know and work with Avril was a highlight of my career and life. She is gracious, inspiring, and she never fails to speak up for what and who she believes in.

About the book:

Avril Henry grew up in apartheid South Africa, in a society that assigned value by race, class, and gender. From a young age she was an observer — but never a bystander.

She saw exactly who the rules protected, who they harmed, and who they erased. Wherever she could, she pushed against them. At twenty-two she left with two suitcases and five hundred dollars, searching for fairness, freedom, and the right to speak honestly without surrendering her conscience.

This is the story of how Avril not only changed her life, but the lives of countless women in Australia.

Nature is very precious. I thought I saw a bower bird trying to collect something blue from our patio area in Mollymook. But 3 days later I checked my plant stand where I keep orchids after they have finished flowering. I saw what looked like some coconut fibre and thought “I didn’t put that there.” I was about to pick it up and put it in the bin when I realised it was a bird’s nest. She is a blackbird. They build nests close to humans and houses where it is safer from predators. She has probably laid 2-5 eggs and will sit on them for 2 weeks, then the eggs will hatch - next weekend.

She will then feed them for 2-3 weeks before teaching them to fly and they will then leave. If they have a good experience (at our house) she will come back next Spring.

Happiest birthday to my husband, David Kwasha. You are one of a kind - funny, generous, smart and have a golden heart. You are a genuinely kind person who loves to help others. Hard to believe this amazing icon is gone - done like everything else in her life - with dignity and quiet grace.
