Sơn Mài - Frosted Leaf « Lagoon »

The “Lagoon” dials pays tribute to the mesmerizing beauty of lagoons and their relation to light. Between sea and land, depth and surface, they display incomparable and magical optical effects. We decided to capture them in our dials. Translucent greenish blue, intense turquoise, deep cobalt blue or silvery pale blue, lagoons are like breathing, living creatures, always changing. Transparent at first glance, the “Lagoon” dials actually include a whole universe. Diving into them is like diving into yourself, finding some hidden truths. Such an artistic achievement was allowed by our Frosted Leaf technique and the command of our Master Lacquerers. Light goes through several layers of lacquer, natural pigments, and silver leaves, producing visual effects similar to lagoon waters.

“Lagoon” watches foster people to see beyond what is visible. They are made for those who know that the most precious things are way under the surface. A silent reminder that some treasures, and savoir-faire, are timeless. You reach wiseness when you realize how much is left to discover.

The remarkable technique used to produce the Blood Moon, Storm and Lagoon dials requires the highest level of focus and dexterity. It is a long and complex artisanal process, each movement is of paramount importance. And perfection is the only objective. Each dial is like a hypnotizing “millefeuille”, playing with light.

Inspired by the emotions you feel when listening to music, we captured the colors, the atmosphere and the memories associated with a song, thanks to the antique Vietnamese art of Sơn Mài lacquerwork

Introducing Sơn Mài - Frosted Leaf « Royal Blue »

Limited Edition of 200 pieces only.

Royal Blue introduces for the very first time, pure gold into the crafting of our Vietnamese Sơn Mài lacquer dials.

A fusion of material and light, the Royal Blue dials are entirely hand-crafted in the manner of a « mille-feuille », composed of successive layers of lacquer, pure gold leaf and natural blue pigments in varying shades.

A chromatic combination at once subtle and noble, steeped in history and meaning, this edition carries a poetic and philosophical resonance that transcends the boundaries of mere aesthetic refinement.

A silent dialogue between what passes and what remains, it unites two absolutes that seem to stand in opposition. On one side, time - elusive, inexorable. On the other, gold - imperishable, immutable.

One flows, and never stops. The other is eternal.

To enhance our Guilloché Main dials, we pair them with the ancestral Vietnamese art of Son Mài lacquer, renowned for its depth and unique reflective qualities. We continue our collaboration with one of Vietnam’s most prestigious workshops, where master lacquerers perpetuate a traditional craft that demands precision, patience, and dexterity, while also opening it up to more contemporary expressions.

Derived from the rare sap of the Rhus Verniciflua tree and carefully harvested, the lacquer is then purified and enriched with natural pigments to create the deep, intense color gradients of our dials.

Applied in multiple ultra-thin layers and meticulously polished, this natural lacquer reveals a smooth surface of remarkable visual intensity. This long and demanding process, based on highly controlled gestures, gives the three versions of this collection their exceptional richness and brilliance.

As the work progresses, the lacquer enhances and freezes the brilliance and depth of the guilloché patterns for eternity, turning each dial into a true work of art - captivating, refined, and subtly evolving with the light, reflecting our commitment to craftsmanship and creation.
