"As the Founder of Animal Welfare & Care Services (AWCS), I have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, along with my dedicated team, with just one mission — to save as many voiceless lives as possible in Amritsar and across Punjab. ❤️ inspite of all the ups and downs and many constraints, I have walked the path of Compassion unconditionally.
I am sad that I could not travel to India to personally meet Shri Anant Ambani Ji, someone whose extraordinary compassion and commitment towards animal welfare has inspired so many of us. However, I am immensely grateful that my team had the privilege of meeting him and his wonderful team.
This recognition means so much to AWCS and gives us even greater strength to continue our mission. 🐕🐄🐎🕊️

Every species deserves to live on this planet with freedom and dignity.
Freedom from fear.
Freedom from hunger.
Freedom from cruelty.
Freedom from being looked down upon simply because they belong to another species.
The freedom to care for their families.
The freedom to live without persecution.
The freedom to find food, shelter and kindness.
The freedom to have a safe space to rest.
We celebrate independence and cherish our own freedom. But can we call ourselves truly independent while millions of animals around us continue to live in fear, hunger and suffering?
We will never be truly independent until we break the chains of speciesism.
Until we learn to respect the right of every living being to exist on this planet, Independence remains a celebration of just one species — our own.
This Independence Day, let our idea of freedom become bigger than ourselves.

WE HAD ONLY FEW HOURS TO SAVE HER -SHE WAS SCREAMING FROM INSIDE A DRAINAGE PIPE… 💔🐱 WE
For hours, this tiny kitten was trapped where no one could reach her.
Her cries were heard by the property owners, who immediately called AWCS.
There was only one way to reach her—
WE HAD TO DRILL.
⏳ 1 hour…
⏳ 2 hours…
⏳ 3 hours…
The drilling continued.
And then… a miracle. ❤️
A tiny, frightened kitten slowly crawled out of the pipe…
STRAIGHT INTO OUR ARMS. 🥹🐾
She was scared.
She was exhausted.
She was hungry.
We wrapped her in a warm cloth, held her close and immediately fed her.
From screaming alone inside a dark drainage pipe…
to being safe, warm and loved. ❤️
A beautiful reminder that when humans choose compassion, even the smallest life can be given another chance.
🙏 A heartfelt thank you to the property owners for allowing us to drill for hours to save her.
3 HOURS OF DRILLING.
ONE TINY LIFE.

In Loving Memory of Shri Anil Sood ji🙏
A Life Dedicated to Faith, Family & Compassion

With profound sadness, the AWCS family mourns the passing of Shri Anil Sood ji—a devoted husband, loving father, humble disciple of His Holiness Bal Sant Swami Satya Dev ji (1953–2004), and a compassionate humanitarian.

Inspired by his Gurudev's teachings of selfless service, Shri Anil Sood ji and his family established Satya Dham Foundation Inc., Vancouver, Canada, dedicated to serving humanity with faith, humility, and unconditional love.

As a valued partner of AWCS, Satya Dham Foundation Inc. played a vital role in supporting the rescue, treatment, and care of injured and abandoned community animals in Amritsar. Through Shri Anil Sood ji's generosity, countless innocent lives were saved.

One of his final messages beautifully reflected his spirit:
"Please come forward and support this noble cause. Your generosity will save lives."

The entire AWCS family extends its heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Sangeeta Sood ji, Akshay Sood, Abhishek Sood, and everyone at Satya Dham Foundation Inc.

"In ones life time ,one hardly comes across souls who are so enlightened and selfless. Anil ji was one such soul and I still can't come to terms that he is gone.He would lift my spirits when I would feel sad .
I am grateful to Sangeeta ji , Akshay and Abhishek to continue to respect his wishes to support AWCS "

May Waheguru and the blessings of His Holiness Bal Sant Swami Satya Dev ji grant his noble soul eternal peace and give strength to his loved ones.

Timeline: Supreme Court & Delhi High Court Stray Dog Cases (2025–2026)-Ray of hope at the end of a very dark long road

11 August 2025 – Supreme Court
The Supreme Court directed authorities to remove free-ranging stray dogs from public spaces in Delhi-NCR and place them in shelters, citing serious public safety concerns after dog attacks.

22 August 2025 – Supreme Court modifies the order
A larger Bench clarified that permanent confinement of all community dogs was not feasible.
The Court emphasized implementation of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules, 2023.
Healthy sterilized and vaccinated community dogs should not be indiscriminately removed.
Aggressive or rabid dogs may be kept separately in shelters or pounds. �

Late 2025 – Early 2026
Several animal welfare organizations sought strict implementation of the ABC Rules instead of relocation or culling.
The debate shifted toward scientific management through sterilization and anti-rabies vaccination. �

23 July 2026 – Delhi High Court
A Bench of Justice Dinesh Mehta and Justice Rajneesh Kumar Gupta initiated a suo motu Public Interest Litigation (PIL) to monitor implementation of the Supreme Court's directions.
The Court noted frequent dog-bite incidents and sought reports from the Delhi Government and MCD on:
Sterilization (ABC)
Anti-rabies vaccination
Shelter facilities
Compliance with Supreme Court directions. �

The Delhi High Court reiterated that the issue should be handled through a scientific and humane approach rather than reacting only to individual bite incidents.
Authorities were directed to file a detailed compliance report before the next hearing. �

According to reports from advocates and attendees, the Bench made observations including:
"We don't want any dog to die."
Humane implementation of the ABC Rules is the long-term solution.
Sterilization and anti-rabies vaccination should be prioritized.

Delhi High Court: 3rd August 2026
Compassion and Public Safety Must Go Hand in Hand

In a significant hearing on the management of community dogs, the Delhi High Court emphasized that the humane and lawful solution lies in the effective implementation of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules through scientific sterilisation and anti-rabies vaccination, rather than cruelty or indiscriminate killing.
The Court directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to conduct ward-wise sterilisation and anti-rabies vaccination camps, reinforcing that sustained implementation of the ABC programme is the appropriate way to manage community dog populations.

According to Bar & Bench's report of the hearing, the Bench made the following oral observations:

"We don't want any dog to die, even they [government] don't want any dog to die. This is not adversarial."
"From today onwards, we don't want to hear, 'dog kaat gaya, dog nahi kaata'. Sabko pata hai kaat-ta hai."
"I will cry when dogs go. I still say 5 percent population should be left so that the next generation sees the dog."

These remarks, as reported, reflect the Bench's emphasis on balancing public safety with compassion, while encouraging scientific and humane management of community dogs.

For the last 3 years, Snaffles' family has lovingly sponsored meals for our shelter doggos in his memory. ❤️🐾
