pretty much the same things info-wise! i’m a simple man i like what i like. i did simplify it this year compared to last (my bags have not changed much either LMAO) and of course my style is a smidge different from last years. added my babies too because i LOVE THEM!

#artvsartist for 2025 ⭐️
what a year! 2025 felt like a big year for me both personally and in my art journey.
scrolling through photos showed how far i’ve come, how many changes and obstacles i conquered, and the many times is stepped out of my comfort zone and learned new skills all within the year.
all the pinterest pages i did with different poses and colors, drawing subjects that weren’t just people and being able to execute them in different ways and mediums, and when i was drawing people i expanded my skill even further and learned deeper shading techniques. i’ve learned and gained so much this year. i’ve done so much art. and if you’ve known me for awhile you know how big this is for me.
i’m so proud of myself. the last year and a half art has felt like an old friend i’m reconnecting with, and learning the new ways to love it. and i fell hard and never stopped.
and it’s all lead me to greater and bigger things in the end, and another door has opened for me.

long time no post, friends!!!! i’m slowly crawling out of the grave and finding time to make personal art again!!!! ✨
starting off strong with this painting i did for a friend, gifted to his girlfriend! there’s a personal story of her that he wanted me to recreate like sonic getting the rings knocked out of him, AND IM SO GLAD I WAS ASKED AND ABLE TO DELIVER!!!!!!!
i wanted to capture the essence of sonic while also capturing the scene and transferring the pixels of a sonic classic to traditional. and i think i nailed it :3
what a fun piece. i haven’t used acrylics in a loooooong time, so it was challenging, rejuvenating, and SO fun all at the same time to get back into it. ♥️

some christmas cards i made for my tattoo shop crew :3
i’ve learned so much already from them all and i know it’s just the beginning. they make me look forward to this journey, both in expanding on my crafts and knowing i’m in good hands.
literally can’t thank them enough ♥️
i don’t do stylized portraits a lot but i think i realized how much i like doing them, especially in this card-style manner; mayhaps more in the future? 👀

rose assignment
5 roses: 1 realistic, 1 outline, the rest could be whatever
did different styles to showcase adaptability, and different mediums and methods; and it’s just more fun to look at :3
realism with colored pencil was quite the challenge. realism is already a challenging style but with colored pencils i had to make sure to work slow and in layers to not overwork the paper/create too thick of a layer. thought back on my bug piece and what i learned and did for that one, so it was a fun little call back and applying that to this :)
my fav one is the neo-traditional-ish one in b&g with a ballpoint pen. the pen is probably one of my favorite mediums so to explore a different style with it was so exciting! and it turned out sick as hell!!
had fun as usual, enjoyed the process and what it’s taught me. :)
onto the next journey!

some mandalas for linework and symmetry practice 💫
this felt a little nostalgic because in my english class in high school we were given folders to put assignments in and i had basically started a mandala on the corner, and each day i’d expand it further and further. so creating the patterns and designs felt like a little callback to little ‘ol me :’)
ANYWAY! a fun piece that felt almost natural; not really thinking of placements or any particular design gave my brain more room to run around i feel, so drawing little designs and details without a thought but still make the mandalas look cohesive as a whole was really freeing and fun! the only real challenge was doing different lines, designs, and details to have contrast as to not make the mandala feel tight or too much. but it was quick and easy to learn what went with what and where.
the process was also tricky and a little elaborate but man was it satisfying nailing it!
first i free-handed a loose sketch to mainly to capture what exact design i wanted and what all i wanted in it. second i took a photo of it on my ipad and used procreates symmetry assist to lay down the symmetry and cleanliness (which i did in the car during a roadtrip so if you do zoom into the digital one you can def see the shaky lines LMAO). and then i basically used my ipad as a tracing board AND TADA! MANDALAS BY HAND! :D
i love learning different methods, i love learning different styles, i love learning!!!!!!!!
and one thing i’ve loved throughout this journey is that it’s all me. everything i’ve done i’ve put me in it and it makes me fucking ecstatic when people notice too.
here’s to more growing and learning and expanding!!! 🤩🤩🤩

some lettering practice!
cursive and accents were a bit tricky to get down; making them flow genuinely and natural to bring together the words while still being legible and clean was a challenge. however i do love font-work! the designs, shading, contrasts, line weights, and EVERYTHING it all entails to make words really pop!
done with ballpoint pens, micron-marker/pen, and charcoal pencil :3
it was challenging but fun to learn as always; keep my brain churning and going!

more spit shading technique with india ink and watercolor this time 🩸
wasn’t comfortable using my saliva which upon research does come with the method, however i did see someone say water with some glycerin is a pretty good substitute so i’ll have to try that next time 🧐
but yaaa nice little american trad mock flash sheet with a halloween theme for the season and cohesion 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ had lots of fun playing with different methods to get to the finish, and bringing the theme and style together!

some spit shading practice w charcoal 🕷️
haven’t used charcoal in years so it was neat to relearn how it behaves and packs, and the shading method itself.
not only was i relearning a different medium but also keeping in mind the contrast i needed so it could all flow well without it being muddled or bare. creating highlights def helped too. i think i did a pretty good job of keeping the balance tho :3c
next is to do spit shading with actual liquids (not my saliva) and see how that plays out!

🫐🍓🍊✨

phewwwww finally got these fruits done! been working on it on and off the past couple of months; took awhile because life has gotten busy once again and this piece required a bit of patience and time.
i definitely started it with a lot of optimism and excitement because i’ve always wanted to do a dedicated fruit page and i love working with just a ballpoint pen, but then realized the difficulty of doing colorful fruits in black and white m(._.)m but difficulties and challenges are how i can keep improving and going!
ANYWAY i am still doing art but also adding other things to the mix :3c onto the next project!
