Another Eddie South transcription, this time with more harmonics. But less shirt… Sweet sweet sue, oh just you. Shoutout to @agrimesmusic for doing some audio mixing voodoo to make me sound older and wiser. #gypsyjazz #violin #transcription #sweetsue #eddiesouth by @ayayronviolin

Just a quick little arrangement of A Night In Tunisia mainly to give the last 4 bars of Darol Anger’s intro to his solo with Turtle Island String Quartet some context. What scale is he playing here, anyone know? Like a g minor something or other idk? Anyway he cooks on this intro and I wish I could improv that fast on the spot #violin #jazz #turtleislandstringquartet #transcription #oneanddone by @ayayronviolin

VIOLIN DUEL: Grappelli vs. South, who wins?!?!
jk everyone wins, I love these guys. Here’s a transcription of a recording they did in Paris with Django Reinhardt back in 1937.
Today also happens to be my birthday, which means it’s time for my annual ROGUE FUNDRAISER FOR MY FAVORITE SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL: the Caroga Lake Music Festival! @carogaartscollective
Last year we raised over $1.2k to help build the Caroga Gym, and thanks to your support, the resident and guest artists of Caroga have never been more jacked and healthy.
If you’d like to help celebrate my birthday this year, I’d be grateful if you’d consider supporting this festival and community, a place I’ve called my summer home for the past 14 years. If donating through Instagram or Facebook isn’t your thing, head over to carogaarts.org/give. If you’d like to support the Caroga Gym specifically, be sure to mention it in your donation, but all contributions to the festival are greatly appreciated and help support its mission.
Thanks, as always, for your continued support. Special shoutout to @agrimesmusic for helping mix the backing and solo tracks! #gypsyjazz #eddiesouth #stephanegrappelli #violin #birthday by @ayayronviolin
