Founded by @priyankashettyactor we produce cutting-edge plays, films, and documentaries that thrive at the intersection of activism and art.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Back in August and September 2025, I shot and directed #Charlottesville, Fearless Art in Fearful Times.

In 2017, the white supremacist rally Unite the Right took place in the small town of Charlottesville. Neo-Nazis turned violent, people were injured, and lives were lost.

The documentary follows @priyankashettyactor as she brings her solo show to the Edinburgh Fringe for its first international premiere. From there, the documentary continues in the US, between Philadelphia and Charlottesville.

Priyanka’s docu-play is built from firsthand accounts, court transcripts, and news reports surrounding the events of 2017.

During filming, we had the opportunity to visit some of the key locations connected to those events and speak with some of the people most closely involved in both the rally and the creation of the play.

We explore themes such as art as a form of activism, political trends unfolding around the world, the importance of remembering events like these, and much more.

A year ago, we knew this documentary would be relevant to many of today’s issues. Recently, Glasgow saw an anti-immigration rally that, while very different in context, echoed some of the rhetoric and tensions surrounding the events of Charlottesville. It was a reminder that the conversations explored in this film remain as relevant as ever.

That’s why I’m both saddened and excited to share a first look at some of the stills I captured (Rec.709, no colour grading). Together with @ecordiner101 , we’ve been working hard on the edit, and we’re now approaching a 40-minute picture lock.

There are much heavier images that would not feel right to release outside the context of the documentary. For now, I’ll leave them to your imagination.

This isn’t just an announcement for a new documentary. It’s a reminder to think critically, act where you can, and not let history repeat itself.

I had the pleasure of attending the Yale Innovation Summit over the past two days which also marked the beginning of my journey as a Producer at @ayellowraincoatproduction.

Among the highlights was an inspiring conversation with @iamjamesrhee, author of @theredhelicopter. We instantly connected over the shared visual language in our work. As I handed him the very first Yellow Raincoat sticker, he smiled and said, “That’s a really nice logo.” I also had the joy of meeting the phenomenal @calida_nicole - an instant connection that feels like the start of a lasting friendship.

Here are a few insights from the Summit that I’ll be carrying forward:

Take the coffee. You never know how it might change your life.

Fear is a tranquilizer it gets us down. Optimism is an energizer it gets us going.

Creative culture doesn’t stop whether there’s money on the table or not.

Genius is not born it is incubated.

Human beings are like teabags we don’t really know our strength until we get into hot water.

Chaos brings greater change faster.

Our place as artists in society is as “the carriers of truth.”

Tap into the optimism of entrepreneurship - what if it does work out?

If we can center kindness and math, maybe we can get away with it.

High agency is audacious. It means being accountable to yourself.

It takes both audacity and discipline to use what you’ve learned.

There are already forces working to diminish your agency - don’t do it to yourself.

Endlessly grateful to Rachel Fine and Frances Pollock for the invitation to be part of this space. I met so many brilliant, generous people and loved every moment. Hope to be back next year!

I’ve been honored with an invitation to attend the Yale Innovation Summit - an incredible gathering of innovators across biotech, climate, health, tech, and the arts. Big thanks to Rachel Fine and Frances Pollock for their warm welcome and generosity, I am truly honored.

Not only will I be “hard launching” my brand new production company, Yellow Raincoat Productions @ayellowraincoatproduction during the Summit but also I have exciting news I’ve been waiting to share for the longest time - I’ll wait a little longer do it onsite! This is such a meaningful moment in my journey as a storyteller and creative entrepreneur. Over the next two days, I’ll be diving into inspiring panels, pitch sessions, arts + innovation conversations, and connecting with brilliant minds. I can’t wait to share the experience and what’s next!

IF ELEPHANTS COULD FLY

Can elephants really fly? In this short documentary, we follow actor Priyanka Shetty as she takes her one-woman show, The Elephant in the Room, to the world’s largest arts festival - the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. As a South Asian immigrant navigating a new country, Priyanka faces the daunting task of establishing herself as an ‘artist of extraordinary ability’. Braving unpredictable weather, homesickness, and a packed schedule, she completes a grueling month-long run in Edinburgh, with the stakes getting higher with each passing day. Will she be able to overcome the odds and achieve her dream?
