For my incredible parents. This piece was built with patience, spontaneity, and love — all the things you built into us. Can’t wait to see it again when I visit home. Thank you. I love you. Enjoy. 🔹♦️🔸 by @ayubi_abstract

‘Still in the Swirl’ 18x24” for @_nolansp 🍭

So excited to share my latest commission now that it’s reached its home in NYC! While I love creating with no direction, Nolan’s starting point ideas led me to explore some new territory with this piece that I may have never seen and am now eager to continue journeying around. Thank you for sharing your excitement for my art, it’s an honor to feature on another young up and coming art collectors wall ;) Enjoy! ♦️♦️♦️ taken in New York, New York by @ayubi_abstract

@scrap_metals_ @ayubi_abstract First ever duo show is up ! at our favorite neighborhood spot @dragonflycoffeehouse 🐲🪰🐲🪰

We created this show ‘Coincidence or Fate’ in our first year living together in Chicago and it has been on view exclusively in our living room here in Portland UNTIL NOW :) Up in @dragonflycoffeehouse for the duration of March — 16 pieces and plenty of prints — come enjoy the flows with your espresso before we take em back home 💜💜💜

“Buzzing” 18x24” 🪁🐝🪁

Pulling in many different directions all at once has a buzzing in my head swirling contrasts to this depthful purple. I think this piece belongs in the forest hidden away with vines growing around the border and moss invading until it sinks into the earth. Or maybe just behind my work desk taken in Forest Park by @ayubi_abstract

‘Let the Wave’ 16x20” 🌊🌊🌊

First sizable swirl of 2026 !!! I know I know I know you’re supposed to prime the canvas before you paint if you want to be a proper pro but yet again the current of the moment was too strong I just had to start imperfections can always (sometimes) be perfected down the line. I’m glad I let the wave cuz these blends and bends have my eyes in a bind I love. Full sending where the current pulls and letting the thoughts flow with the colors all damn year and most vitally right right now ENJOY ♦️♦️♦️ taken in Portland, Oregon by @ayubi_abstract

rising and falling. 7" x 14"

rising (the one to the right) : created by ayubi abstract

falling (the one to the left) : created by me aka scrap metals

a project of duality.

we delved into this project with an idea, an understanding, that we strived to create. the duality of something beyond limits; the notion, the concept, of rising and that of falling. what does one perceive when these words flow into mind? abstract thoughts lead to greater understanding and more rich pieces.

we wanted to deliver something that could hold true to the words (rising and falling) and yet reach beyond said words. we wanted to make the words hidden within, something that you have to really stop and think about.

both pieces differ not only in concept but structure. with no interaction of one artist on the other's work (each were solely done by each artist; falling - scrap metals ; rising - ayubi abstract), we found it endearing the duality of nature and delivery. and yet, they tied so neatly with one another.

it was really fun making this project with the love of my life. we listened to some good tunes and just ripped away. definitely a first of many to come ;)

until then, enjoy. by @ayubi_abstract
