Last few days to see our juried show Small Wonders! Stop by and check it out!

Saturday June 27th is the last day

Gallery hours this week are 12-5pm, Thursday - Saturday

In the South Gallery: Small Wonders - A juried show of small works by regional artists

For our second annual Small Wonders exhibition, we invited artists to help us explore the power of compact creativity and the impact of small-scale art. Each of the fifty works by twenty-six artists accepted for display is no larger than twelve inches in any dimension. All the works on view reflect the artist’s ability to convey big ideas in limited dimensions—emotions, stories, and artistic visions condensed into intimate formats.

Exhibiting artists:
Connor Ayubi, Emerson Blackaby, Mican Cox, Kate Crisanti, Alison Dennis, Dianne Jean Erickson, Nicki Eybel, Dan Gay, Aaron Hagan, Drew Harrington, Karl Hauser, Michelle Hesek, Anna Kaufman, Heidi Keith, Nancy Larson, Lynne Magnuson, Maude Anne May, Katherine McDowell, Kathleen McFall, Topaze Moore, Dan Pillers, Candace Pratt, Jeff Reznikoff, Mary Scriven, E Stern, Elizabeth Webber

This week is the final week to see our June shows!

Gallery hours this week are 12-5pm, Thursday - Saturday

In the North Gallery: Endangered | Engendered - featuring artwork by Sally Finch and Sharon Servilio

Gallery artist Sally Finch transforms data and information she cares about into visual art, revealing hidden patterns, making the passage of time visible, and addressing current concerns.

Guest artist and former Gallery 114 member Sharon Servilio works in ceramics, paper, and textiles. Merging ancient ritual objects with current scientific research, she engages with speculative archeology to create the artifacts of future ecological religions.

a fun lil project w @ayubi_abstract . we tackled it head on with no real plan in mind. just a tarp and some paint. just some flowers in the middle and organic shit around it. just spontaneously letting our hands do their thing and flowing in tandem with one another. andddd this is what turned out. might hang it up somewhere in the city if you're lookin hard enough 😛 in any case, enjoy.

rising and falling. 7" x 14"

rising (the one to the right) : created by ayubi abstract

falling (the one to the left) : created by me aka scrap metals

a project of duality.

we delved into this project with an idea, an understanding, that we strived to create. the duality of something beyond limits; the notion, the concept, of rising and that of falling. what does one perceive when these words flow into mind? abstract thoughts lead to greater understanding and more rich pieces.

we wanted to deliver something that could hold true to the words (rising and falling) and yet reach beyond said words. we wanted to make the words hidden within, something that you have to really stop and think about.

both pieces differ not only in concept but structure. with no interaction of one artist on the other's work (each were solely done by each artist; falling - scrap metals ; rising - ayubi abstract), we found it endearing the duality of nature and delivery. and yet, they tied so neatly with one another.

it was really fun making this project with the love of my life. we listened to some good tunes and just ripped away. definitely a first of many to come ;)

until then, enjoy.
