Five years. It’s taken me five years to not only watch my wedding video with love in my heart, but also be able to share it. We are under so much pressure to look and feel and BE our best selves on very specific days in our lives. Your wedding day. First day of school. The birth of your child. That promotion at work. Everyone says “enjoy your bubble!” Or “aww those were the best days”.

I’m just not willing to pretend those were the best days of my life. I look back at my wedding day and want to hold her. She was building an empire she wasn’t ready for, with a fiance who needed charging socket locations discussed, not where our honeymoon was going to be. Coming out of a pandemic, retired from a career she graduated in, renting in a hugely toxic environment while building a haven, living in her parents house with no money in her account. I remember thinking “well if this is me at my peak, it’s allll downhill from here”. The reality is, how we feel is relative to our circumstances. And weddings and babies are all very STRESSFUL circumstances. I wish I could whisper in her ear “this doesn’t have to be your peak. And I promise you will peak and peak and peak again”.

Looking back now, I can see what my friends and family saw but I can’t unfeel how I felt. 5 years on, two babies, a successful empire, and a house renovation later I can proudly say I have grown. I am peaking, and will continue to! Motherhood didn’t cancel me, my career wasn’t sacrificed and turns out you CAN have abs after two c - sections.

I wanted to bottle those 5 years up and give it to those who need that whisperer I needed so badly.

So I did.

Some projects just stay with you. 🤍

I recently had the opportunity to work alongside @jbmarketingconsultancy on this incredible bridal shoot for @yourscottishwedding , featuring the beautiful @dr.kalyjaff and I genuinely think this has been one of my favourite things I’ve created to date.

I’ve worked within the wedding industry for a very long time, and I’ve dabbled in wedding content along the way, but this felt different.

From capturing the visuals to piecing everything together afterwards, creating the soundscape and watching the whole vision come to life… I absolutely loved every second of it.

It’s creative projects like this that remind me just how much I love what I do. Getting to take something already beautiful and tell the story of it through content is such a special part of my job.

So proud of how this turned out and so grateful to @jacsblair for bringing me along and for @lesley_traynor_ysw trusting me to be part of something so special. 🤍
