The mountains had always felt like home and I had zero desire of ever leaving them. While the ocean had always fascinated me, it intimidated me. I would watch surfers in disbelief, wondering how anyone could willingly put on a wetsuit, jump into freezing water and paddle endlessly for what seemed like ten seconds of gratification.

But when we found ourselves here in the middle of a pandemic with uncertainty everywhere and a deep desire to hold on to my family, the ocean called to me. Since then, it has become a guiding force in nearly every aspect of my life.

The comparison between surfing and life is often made because it is undeniably true. There are highs and lows, calm days and chaotic ones. There are moments when you catch the perfect wave and moments when you’re tossed around and forced to start over.

My favorite surfing quote is: “The best surfer out there is the one having the most fun.”

No one hands out gold medals at the end of this journey. So I choose to smile, to fight, to laugh, and to just simply, keep trying.

I had to bring O2 to Malibu because it completes my story. It reflects my own journey from the snow to the sea and celebrates a life built around movement, adventure, connection, and joy. It’s about curating beautiful, comfortable pieces that support the moments that make us feel most alive.

No limits.

Life over here is wonderfully chaotic—work, kids, sports, forgotten snacks, mismatched socks, and about a thousand questions a day that start with “Mom?” Balance is NOT the word of the year. But the laughter in the madness and the moments of togetherness make this phase of life something I have always dreamed of. We couldn’t be more grateful, proud, and excited to finally announce that O2 Dallas is officially OPEN.

To each hand that has been on deck on this immense undertaking- whether it was on the ground in Dallas helping us build our our home sweet home in The Terminal, becoming a part of our Dallas team, the help from our Aspen team, every instructor, every fitness, skincare, and retail enthusiast that has expressed their excitement- THANK YOU.
