Summer is here, and so is our new split release.

Scorpion Métal is pleased to present « nitiobroge dub / jacob’s ladder », a two-track split by sòn du maquís and BZMC.

Leading the release, sòn du maquís (formerly maquis son sistèm) delivers « nitiobroge dub », a devastating steppa anthem that has quietly circulated as an unreleased dubplate for the past few years, becoming a true secret weapon within the French underground DJ scene. Maximum dancefloor satisfaction guaranteed.

On the flip, BZMC returns to Scorpion Métal with « jacob’s ladder (idm-rave-mix) », a deliberately naïve, high-energy club track that reconnects with an earlier side of his sound while capturing the raw intensity of his live performances.

Since 2020 Nina Garcia aka Mariachi and Arnaud Rivière, two Parisians artists & activists joined their sonic forces in Autoreverse around a bunch of speakers to build a music as immediate as incandescent.

Attacks without low-cut, amplified scrap metal, caught feedbacks, provoked chances, melodies which invite themselves but do not remain for dinner, rhythmic sketches and assumed beauty zones, constructed and cracked matters, counterpoints to the line... backwards and straight ahead: file under high energy improv-noise of today!

Deep Triskell’s artistic approach falls within a scene that meshes experimental practices with traditional music and that has been strongly resurging in France in recent years. It takes the form of dissonant motifs, typical of drones in traditional music—sometimes dark and lingering, sometimes throbbing and techno-leaning and integrates it into a broader idiosyncratic musical language, made of psychedelic figures and digital distortions.

Since 2014 prolific Bulgarian producer Evitceles has managed to build an impressive musical discography, which spreads over a multitude of electronic genres and is released across the world by labels like Opal Tapes (UK), Strange Therapy(NL), Yerevan Tapes(IT), AMEK Collective (BG) and more. He has performed live in venues and festivals in Italy, Armenia, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands among others.

His deep rippling beats, hazy melodies and obscure samples have been the core to his dreamy melancholia, but in recent years his sound has been enriched by intense vocals and guitars that will surely breathe a new life through loud volume in a live environment. by @b.z.m.c

Plus que de simples motifs sonores, Deep Triskell emprunte aux musiques traditionnelles bretonnes ce qu’elles ont de plus fort : l’instauration d’un commun, d’un espace-temps au sein duquel les corps et le collectif se rejoignent dans un même mouvement d’insubordination, une énergie archaïque et persistante, portée par la danse, qui se transmet autant dans les Fest-noz que les free parties de la région.

Deep Triskell résonne en nous telle la rémanence d’un mur de son, ou celle du kan ha diskan, ce chant à danser caractéristique de la musique bretonne, où le chant et le contre-chant s’enchevêtrent et se déploient, sans rupture et sans temps mort. Une tension continue, une circularité qui abolit toute possibilité de pause, comme dans l’hymne que constitue “Le sonneur devenu pierre”.
