Two stalwarts of the French underground on the amazing @editions_gravats - should be a belter! Tomorrow night, tickets on Fatsoma. Autoreverse is I guess a kind of no-wave/improv/experimental rock, but it’s actually just a great band. Two players doing their thing. “seamless attacks, amplified scrap metal, just-caught feedbacks, provoked chances, melodies that invite themselves in but don’t stay for dinner, rhythmic sketches and glimpsed zones of beauty, built-up and cracked materials, expected and unexpected counterpoints. The intensities vary from start to finish: howling, eruptive bursts of harsh noise microswitchs, shapeless feedback whining and growling, but also more meditative harmonics and resonances.” Deep Triskell is Breton folk stretched and twisted into hypnotic dub/techno inflected rituals!

Puis on sort prendre l’air. Ensuite LA NUIT.

TOMORROW! September 30th at @cafeotodalston - Autoreverse (@nina.garcia.mariachi & @arnaud___riviere ) + Deep Triskell & @evitceles Tickets on sale now via Dice Since 2020 Nina Garcia aka Mariachi and Arnaud Rivière, two Parisians artists & activists joined their sonic forces in Autoreverse around a bunch of speakers to build a music as immediate as incandescent. Attacks without low-cut, amplified scrap metal, caught feedbacks, provoked chances, melodies which invite themselves but do not remain for dinner, rhythmic sketches and assumed beauty zones, constructed and cracked matters, counterpoints to the line... backwards and straight ahead: file under high energy improv-noise of today! -- Deep Triskell’s artistic approach falls within a scene that meshes experimental practices with traditional music and that has been strongly resurging in France in recent years. It takes the form of dissonant motifs, typical of drones in traditional music—sometimes dark and lingering, sometimes throbbing and techno-leaning and integrates it into a broader idiosyncratic musical language, made of psychedelic figures and digital distortions. -- Since 2014 prolific Bulgarian producer @evitceles has managed to build an impressive musical discography, which spreads over a multitude of electronic genres and is released across the world by labels like Opal Tapes (UK), Strange Therapy(NL), Yerevan Tapes(IT), AMEK Collective (BG) and more. He has performed live in venues and festivals in Italy, Armenia, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands among others. His deep rippling beats, hazy melodies and obscure samples have been the core to his dreamy melancholia, but in recent years his sound has been enriched by intense vocals and guitars that will surely breathe a new life through loud volume in a live environment.

Nine years after his last release on @editions_gravats , Maxime Primault ( @b.z.m.c ) returns to the label under a new alias, Deep Triskell. Reconnecting with his first love for psychedelia and trance - once explored as High Wolf- he pushes it through a dark, Celtic-fuelled vortex. The result is an instant brain reset, like an ice-cold lemon sorbet on the hottest day of the year. One of those leftfield weapons that would surprise virtually any dancefloor, no matter the setting, yet somehow make perfect sense the moment it drops. TIP!
