Just A Thought comes out this Friday, August 7.

This song was written completely different than anything I’ve done before. Honestly, most of it was written in my mind while laying in bed, deep in thought… getting kicked by what can only now be described as a “4-year-old drunk octopus.”

Somewhere between trying to remember the lyrics until morning, thinking about my past, and realizing how dang lucky I am… this song slowly came together.

It’s reflective. It’s got a groove. It’s weird in all the right ways. And I’m really proud of it.

Huge thank you to everyone who’s listened to my music over the years, whether you’ve been around since the #VokabKompany days or just found B3k… means more than you know.

Editor’s Note:

I’m 45, heading toward 46, and I’ve learned something unexpected:

Most of us don’t have a foolproof plan.

I’m making it up as I go. Building the infrastructure while wobbling across it. Hoping my best intentions are enough to get me to the next chapter.

Somehow, through all the uncertainty, I’m gigging again, writing tales and tunes almost every day. I’ve found myself with a wonderful wife, an incredible son, good friends, meaningful work, and a growing collection of stories worth telling. @libfestival was a very special experience this year through all the dust. Figured I’d share some beautiful photos of it. Most taken by @helloatlasmedia, some by @brybit @camilledoan @mikeylion @cookieleonx

Lately, I’ve been working on a new rhyme book. It’s part poetry, part reflection, and part reminder that life isn’t something we figure out once, it’s something we keep discovering.

The older I get, the less interested I am in having all the answers and the more grateful I am for the questions.

Thanks for being here for another whatever this is.

Still absorbing it all ⚡️

What an incredible weekend at @libfestival . Huge gratitude to everyone who came out to dance, connect, and share space with us at the @grandartique.

It was an honor to perform alongside the immensely talented @saxophonist.johnavery, @hvalor, @ofier , and a surprise drop from @lilyfangz ! Then keep the energy flowing into the early morning hours with Valor and @printzboard for our 4 AM set. + got to hang with my boy @burkeyloveslife

A special thank you to @ian__xavier, Jonny, and the entire Grand Artique crew for creating this environment. The stages, sound, art, and overall experience continue to be one of the most inspiring expressions of creativity and community anywhere.
