🏔️The big project to connect Truckee and Nevada City by singletrack keeps trucking along! Partners involved include BONC, Truckee Trails Foundation, Bear Yuba Land Trust, US Forest Service, County of Nevada, Tahoe Donner Land Trust and Gold Country Trails Council.

🚧 Lehman Construction has completed machine work on Section 2 and is about a mile into Section 1, meaning connection to Hole In The Ground is coming before the snow flies.

⚒️ Life of the Trail Crew - Truckee Trails Foundation (TTF) is the lead trail crew on the “Summit Link” section of the Pines to Mines Trail project. 🌲

Attention to detail, precise route flagging, proper equipment training, enduring the elements, and hard work are some of the main tasks of our trail crew. TTF completed 3 miles on Section 3 of the “Summit Link” last summer. Find out which sections we’ll be working on next, and learn more about the route on May 6th!

Join BONC, Gold Country Trails Council, Nevada County Woods Riders and Sierra Trailblazers Running Club for a workday celebrating multi-use trails in Nevada County! Meet at Skillman Campground to register between 8-9 am. Complimentary BBQ lunch provided by NCWR, 12:30-1 pm!

WHEN: Saturday, October 10th

Sign-in: 8:00-9:00 AM
Work Starts: 9:00 AM
WHERE: Meet and sign-in at Skillman Campground

WORK PROJECTS:

Towie Mill Trail: Start a trail reroute by clearing the marked route of debris
Hallelujah Trail: Work on drainage bars
TOOLS: Some tools will be available. Bring garden rakes, loppers, hand saws, pruners, pole pruners if you have them.

PERSONAL GEAR: Water, snacks, and a camp chair for lunch. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for trailwork. Bring gloves.

PARKING & ACCESS: Parking near the worksite is very limited, so carpooling is strongly encouraged.

📍 Sign in at Skillman Campground, 8–9 AM. Work starts at 9.
🛠 Towle Mill Trail: clear the marked route for a new reroute
💧 Hallelujah Trail: build drainage bars
🍔 Free BBQ lunch from NCWR at 12:30

Bring rakes, loppers, hand saws, pruners, or pole pruners if you have them. Wear long pants, long sleeves, sturdy boots, and work gloves. Pack water, snacks, and a camp chair for lunch.

Parking is tight, so please carpool. You'll carry your tools about ¼ mile from the road to Trail 66.

📆 Nevada City is writing a master plan for how people get around town on foot, by bike, and on trails. It will decide which bike lanes, paths, crossings, and trail connections get priority over the next 3 to 5 years.

BONC is a partner on the Nevada City Active Transportation, Trails & Complete Streets Master Plan, and the City wants to hear from people who actually ride here. Trail or road, your input counts.

BONC’s annual GrouseFest was once again a tremendous success! 💚🚵‍♀️

Thank you to the adventurous and hearty souls who joined us to help clear the overgrown Glacier Lake Trail and provide a more sustainable trail bed!
🦾🪏

Our sawyers even cleared out 40 downed trees from previous storms!! 🌬️🌲

Big shout out of gratitude to Three Forks for offering up their super tasty Oak Tree pale ale and our very own Maggie and Colin for the fantastic pulled pork tacos 🍻🌮😋!

We deeply appreciate all our wonderful volunteers, ThreeForks Bakery and Brewery, Tahoe National Forest, YBONC for lunches and Maggie and Colin for dinner. Can’t wait to see you all again next year! by @b_o_n_c

🏔️ Important reminder: the road up to Grouse Ridge campground is in pretty rough shape!

There are always minivans and Priuses parked up there, but it’s going to be slow going in any vehicle. If you are joining tomorrow (Saturday morning) please give yourself at least an hour to drive from Hwy 20 to the top...where all the awesome vibes and views will be waiting for you! 🚲 🌲 by @b_o_n_c

BONC has secured campsites for Friday and Saturday night at the Grouse Ridge campground which has an amazing view, pit toilets and no potable water. Bring your own water supply or filters for the trail (although BONC will have back up water as well).

For trailwork on Saturday we'll be heading North on the Grouse Ridge Trail approx. 1.5 miles to connect with the Glacier Lake Trail. If you’re not camping on Friday night, meet at 8:30 for a 9 am departure. We’ll work a 3-mile stretch of the Glacier Lake Trail clearing brush and debris out of the trail bed, clearing trees and re-establishing original trail bed. BONC will have tools, but feel free to bring loppers, hand saws, rakes or McLeods if you have them. Bring gloves and appropriate shoes and clothing for a day on the trail!

Sack lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday, plus beverages from local sponsors. Sign the waiver to participate and to let us know your meal preferences.

When: Friday (evening) through Sunday, September 11th - 13th
