Frames from my first feature length show which aired on Channel 5.

Here's the lighting breakdown
We used the evoke 150c with 35 degree lense as the projector and ran it through light mapping
We put the evoke 5cs to work and what a beautiful versatile lamp they are !!!!!

his soft study scene in Pinocchio Unstrung wasn’t just about letting the sunlight do the work.

To create the manor’s gentle window glow, the team positioned the Evoke 1200B and Nanlite Forza 720B outside the windows, using them as a controlled daylight source to recreate the feeling of natural sunlight pouring into the room.

Another example of utilising every millimetre of space when all you have is two flat walls and some set design. In this one, the character lived in a small New York flat in the 1920s. We layered the scene with foreground dingle and some rain trickling down the window, lit by our fake streetlight

As it was for all the rest of these documentary reconstruction scenes, we let faces etc fall into shadow, as performance and character wasn’t the main focus.

Some more behind the scenes from the drama recon elements for the documentary ‘Not In a Hundred Years’ for @uefa and @noahmediagroup directed by @richmil

As I mentioned about this shoot previously, we had several different sets and eras to shoot across a 2 day period for 2 different documentaries. We had to jump between sets quickly, and the sets often had to be turned around by our brilliant production designers @eileen.aldous and @stuart.brindle.art.dept to facilitate the next scene. As you can see from the before and after shots, there wasn’t a millimetre of the set that we didn’t see on camera, and we weren’t blessed with space.

To give the set a sense of realism, gaffer @b_s_lite and I bounced some @nanlux_official hard light off a mirror to simulate low sunlight, and let the light flare the lens to give it a sense of hazy imperfection. A challenging set, but I really like the outcome
