MEET THE TEAM: HOLLY BOURDILLON – EDITOR

We are so excited to welcome Holly Bourdillon to the Tinned Peaches team as our EDITOR.

Holly has worked across FEATURE FILM, HIGH-END TELEVISION and SHORT FILMS, with credits including NETFLIX’S ONE DAY, SKY’S THE DAY OF THE JACKAL, EXTRA GEOGRAPHY and BARE ROOTS, alongside many more.

She brings such a thoughtful and instinctive approach to the edit, with a real belief in giving a story room to breathe and allowing the moments to speak for themselves.

When Holly first read Tinned Peaches, she was immediately drawn to the Mother-Daughter relationship at its heart: the way it moves between intimacy, frustration, love and misunderstanding, and how much is communicated through everything these two women don’t say to each other.

For Holly, the edit will be about finding the rhythm of that relationship rather than forcing it — making space for the quieter moments alongside the chaos of our leading ladies.

She’s also particularly drawn to the house as a third character in the film: a home filled with memories, where the closeness and chaos of the interiors contrast with the openness of the garden and the world outside.

And then there are the tiny details. Hands. Eyes. Glances. Those perfectly imperfect faces. The little things that tell us everything about these women without needing to say a word.

We can’t wait to see Holly bring all of those moments together and help shape Tinned Peaches into a film that stays with you long after the credits roll.

WE’RE THROUGH TO ROUND 2️⃣ ✨

We’re so excited to share that Tinned Peaches has made it through to Round 2 of @day.job.films Film Fund 2026.

After being selected from hundreds of submissions in Round 1, our screenplay is now heading into the full script review, where they’ll be taking a closer look at the story, characters, visual storytelling and the creative vision behind the film.

To know that Tinned Peaches stood out, and that they saw the potential in what we’re trying to create, means such a lot.

It’s also made us stop for a second and realise just how far this little film has come. What started as an idea has grown into an incredible team and a community of people who have backed us, donated, shared the film and followed along as we’ve tried to get it out into the world. We genuinely wouldn’t be here without you.

Next stop… Round 3 and the final interviews, where we’d get the chance to sit down with the Day Job Films team and talk all things Tinned Peaches. We would absolutely love to get there.

So, everything crossed.

Thank you for continuing to believe in this little film and helping us get this far.

Round 2, here we go!

FOR THE STORIES WE REMEMBER, AND THE TINS WE NEVER FORGET.

We are so happy to share that @spambrand have kindly donated tins of SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham for the Tinned Peaches set.

When we reached out to the team at Hormel Foods and shared the story behind the film, including the memories of SPAM and tinned food woven through our own family, they immediately understood what we were trying to make.

A huge thank you to the whole Hormel Foods team for loving tinned goods and nostalgia as much as we do, and for helping us bring a little more of that world to life on screen.

One more little piece of Tinned Peaches falling into place.

WELCOME TO THE TINNED PEACHES FAMILY, TIMOR⌚️

Some objects tell more than just the time.

They become part of family photographs. They pass from one generation to the next.

They quietly witness moments of love, loss, and everything in between.

That’s why we’re so proud to welcome @timorwatch as the Official Film Partner of Tinned Peaches.

Founded in 1923, Timor has a remarkable history. From watches made for the British Army during the Second World War to elegant timepieces worn across generations, their craftsmanship has become part of people’s lives for over a century. Like the stories we inherit, they’re passed down, treasured, and remembered.

Their generous contribution to our production, alongside the loan of a beautiful vintage women’s Timor watch, will help bring one of Tinned Peaches’ most meaningful objects to life on screen.

SOME FAMILY ALBUMS HOLD MORE THAN PHOTOGRAPHS 📷

In recent weeks, more light has been shone on the experiences of women who, throughout the 1950s, 60s and 70s, were forced to give up their babies or carry the weight of shame because of the attitudes of the time.

For many women, silence wasn’t a choice. Their stories have shaped generations in ways we’re only beginning to understand.

But what about the children?

The sons and daughters who grew up with unanswered questions. The families who lived alongside secrets they didn’t yet know. The generations still discovering how the past quietly echoes through the present.

Tinned Peaches is inspired by the hidden histories that exist within ordinary families, and the lasting impact they can have across generations.

This post is for every woman whose voice went unheard, every child searching for answers, and every family finding the courage to speak about the past with compassion.

MEET THE TEAM: GRACE DENT, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER 🍽️

It is a real privilege to welcome @gracedent to the Tinned Peaches family as Executive Producer.

Grace is one of Britain’s most celebrated food writers and broadcasters and a judge on BBC MasterChef. Her bestselling memoir Hungry, winner of the Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Award, and her award-winning Guardian podcast Comfort Eating have built a body of work exploring the same territory Tinned Peaches inhabits: the way food carries memory, grief, comfort and identity across generations, and the things families pass down without ever quite saying out loud.

"Tinned Peaches is the kind of story I grew up inside. Working class kitchens, food as love, things left unsaid at the table for decades. Charlotte is making the film she needed to see in the world, on her own terms, without waiting for permission. That is exactly the kind of filmmaker I want to support and work with."

Her work has always celebrated working-class food culture and the emotional significance of the everyday meals that shape our memories and family histories. That is exactly the world Tinned Peaches inhabits, and exactly why her support means so much to this project.

Grace has also written with remarkable honesty about caring for and losing both of her parents, offering a deeply personal perspective on the ways food, love and grief become intertwined. That emotional generosity has resonated with so many readers and is one of the reasons her connection to Tinned Peaches feels so meaningful.

Having someone with Grace’s experience, industry knowledge and understanding of storytelling that moves people as our Executive Producer is something we don’t take for granted. Her insight and belief in this project will be invaluable as we navigate the next stages of production and work towards the festival circuit.

MEET THE TEAM: SOFIA ROUBATI, COMPOSER 🎼

Music has a way of holding memory, much like food does. That’s exactly why Sofia Roubati is joining Tinned Peaches as our composer!

Sofia is a composer for film, dance and media, as well as a saxophonist, splitting her time between Athens, London and New York. Her work explores the relationship between music and the moving image, often shining a light on themes of immigration, gender equality and climate change, and the ways they shape communities. She released her debut album, Reflections, in November 2025, which is available on all streaming platforms and Bandcamp.

Her previous work includes the score for the feature documentary Smiles, and Reverberations, a short documentary exploring inherited war memories and intergenerational trauma in Beirut. Her score for Beyond the Plaques, commissioned by the National Youth Ballet and English Heritage, won Best Soundtrack at the International Istanbul Short Film Festival for The Writer’s Journey and was nominated for Best Score at the International Sound and Film Music Festival 2025. Her music has also been featured at festivals including Atlanta Shortfest, Dallas Dance Film Festival and This Is England Film Festival, and she has recorded at Abbey Road Studios as part of the Earth Orchestra project.

From the moment we connected, it was clear Sofia understood exactly what we wanted Tinned Peaches to feel like. We’ve already begun exploring the idea of giving both mother and daughter their own musical voices, woven throughout the film.

For us, a score is never just music. It is a memory. It is a place. It is the thing that lingers long after the credits roll. Sofia’s ability to uncover emotional truth through sound is exactly what this story needs, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her on board.

THE KIND OF EMERGING TALENT FEMALE FILM CLUB IS PROUD TO CHAMPION 🌟

We are incredibly proud to share the support of Liza van der Smissen, Co-Founder of Female Film Club, a global community championing female and non-binary filmmakers across more than 70 nationalities.

Since its launch, Female Film Club has become one of the industry’s leading communities for emerging filmmakers, creating opportunities, connections and funding pathways for underrepresented voices. This year, the organisation returned to Cannes with an expanded short film fund supporting filmmakers from script to screen.

Liza has followed the journey of Tinned Peaches from its earliest stages. She has seen the work, determination and heart that has gone into bringing this project to life, making her endorsement especially meaningful to our team.

“The mother and daughter dynamic hits you straight in the heart. Exactly the kind of emerging talent Female Film Club is proud to champion.
