Recently we made our way to the heart of Ponsonby Central to a vibrant Korean eatery - Gaja!! Not only was the food tasty, the ambiance of the restaurant was both cosy and inviting 🫶

We tasted a variety of starters and mains consisting of Menbosha (crunchy prawn toast) 🍤, crispy eggplant 🍆, kimchi fried rice 🍚, spicy gochujang chicken skewers 🍗 and ssiba chicken 🤤

Highlight ‼️: I’m a sucker for a good crispy glazed eggplant dish so no surprise- my highlight was the crispy eggplant 😋

📍 Café del Mar | Sydney

Not too long ago we headed to Café del Mar in their new location- Sydney!! The venue is beautifully placed in front of the bustling waterfront area, with seating both indoor and outdoor! We were so excited to visit!! 😍

We devoured a variety of tapas dishes such as the mushroom skewers 🍄‍🟫, truffle fries, duck fat potatoes, the burrata and the most delicious focaccia bread 🥖. We accompanied our snacks with a variety of their cocktails, all recommended by their skilled bar tender- they did not disappoint🍸 🍹

⚡ Speed: 10/10

Highlight ‼️: our tapas dishes were all very tasty but the drinks STOLE the show- such a great variety of cocktails, all as delicious as each other!!

Some time ago we popped into Toss to try out their epic smoothies, wraps, cookies, and bowls — and honestly, it was such a vibe! 🌟

We kicked things off with the Purple Smoothie 🫐✨ (hello anti-aging goodness!) and the Coffee Kick Smoothie ☕⚡ for that much-needed energy boost. Of course, we couldn’t resist the gooey Tahini Choc Chip Cookie 🍪.

For food, we dived into the Tex Mex Chicken Wrap 🌯 — packed with flavour and spice — and the Halloumi Pesto Salad Bowl 🥗 with parmesan that totally hit the spot. Pro tip: you can also build your own bowl here and get creative with your faves!

Tucked away in Newtown, Master Ricelyn is dishing up flavours that hit bold, comforting, and downright addictive all at once. If you’re chasing a mix of spice, freshness, and that perfect balance of sweet, savoury, and heat—this is where you want to be.

We dug into the black pepper prawns (unreal), coconut curry, sambal green beans, chicken wings, rendang curry, and plenty more—and every single dish delivered. From the fiery depth of the rendang to the punchy sambal beans and that rich, peppery prawn dish, it was flavour after flavour with zero misses.

We made our way to Flavour of India in Edgecliff—an underrated gem serving up classic Indian favourites done right. If you’re after bold spices, rich curries, and solid portions, this spot delivers the goods.

We tried the pepper chicken, Indian butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka fillet (entrée), and garlic naan—and not one dish missed. From the fiery kick of the pepper chicken to the buttery smoothness of the curry and soft, garlicky naan, everything was on point.

📍 Moe Palae’ Myanmar Restaurant | Glendene, Auckland

A few weeks back we got to try Myanmar cuisine- which is something we’d never tried before so we’re very excited to do so, especially because the head chef of this restaurant was the winner of Masterchef Myanmar!! 🥳 We were welcomed very kindly by their knowledgeable manager Kyaw Thura who made our dinning experience even better!

We feasted on several menu items including a Mont Yae Parr (a type of thin savoury pancake) 😋, A Jyaw Sone (an assorted platter of fried goods), a chicken biryani 🍗, Myait Kat Kyay Kite noodles and Shan Khao Soi noodles 🍜

To drink we had a Myanmar styled falooda and a special sagu dessert 🍨

Highlight ‼️: The Myanmar styled chicken biryani was so delicious, definitely a must try!!

Hello lovely people- it’s been a minute! Life got very busy these past few months but we’re hoping to make it up to you by bringing you on a banger of a restaurant! Not too long ago we got to visit Sa-On, a vibrant Thai restaurant located in the busy streets of Henderson and oh my goodness- it was amazing!!

We feasted on some satay chicken 🍗, mieng geong, tom yum soup 🍲 , Sa-On noodles 🍜 (seafood), crab meat fried rice and some tamarind sauce fish 🐠 ! And if that wasn’t enough already, we got to try three delish drinks to accompany the phenomenal meal- some Thai milk tea 🧋, the butterfly pea flower mocktail 🍹and some fresh coconut water served in a whole coconut!! 🥥 😋

☕ Vibe: 9/10
⚡ Speed: 9/10

Highlight ‼️: The Sa-On seafood noodles were a must try (but this was so hard to pick because everything really was incredible!!)

Verdict: Must visit 🤩🔥

Perfect Kick-ons: Sa-On is conveniently located opposite the Event cinemas so stop by to catch a late night film! (We certainly did!!)

Kicking off the day with a visit to Little Q Cafe, a hidden gem in Kingsland serving up some seriously good eats! Whether you’re after a hearty meal or a refreshing drink, this spot has you covered.

We tried the crispy chicken burger, parmesan creamy mushrooms, and chicken sandwich—all of which were excellent! To pair with our meal, we had iced mochas and a pomegranate lemon soda, which was super refreshing and the perfect balance of sweet and tangy.

Firstly- Happy New Year to all 🥳

To start the year off we have an exciting cafe visit! Na B cafe is a Korean fusion space with the most delicious brunch options suitable to all 🥰💜

We ordered the prawn fettuccine, Korean fried chicken, creamy mushroom and some truffle fries to share. For drinks we were super excited to try the kumara latte (freshly made by the sweetest owner- it was DELICIOUS) and also their dalgona latte which was super tasty as well 🤤

A couple of weeks ago we visited a new drinks and dessert bar located on the busy Lorne Street and omg it was so so good! We’ve had tonnes of bubble tea but never something coconut based and wow it was such a game changer 😋

We ordered the taro 💜 and pistachio 💚 cloud drinks, the crème brûlée coconut jelly dessert and the coconut sugar bingsu with toppings 🥥 🌴

Flavour 😋: 10/10

A wee while back we went to this cute little cafe located in the busy suburb of Remuera- Crispy Eatery 🥰 This cafe is known for it’s versatile menu and their NOT TO BE MISSED Honey Cakes 🍰

We ordered the grilled eggplant 🍆 , a vegetarian big breakfast 🍳 , strawberry and mango iced matchas 🍵 along with 2 honey cakes to go 🎂 (we were just too full to eat it all there!!)

Flavour 😋: 9/10 (extra points for the honey cake and matcha omg)
Vibe 😎: 8/10
Speed ⏳: 8/10
