Working mom life can feel like moving from one shift directly into another.

You leave work and suddenly it’s dinner, the house, your child, tomorrow’s responsibilities and
everything everyone needs from you.

That work-to-motherhood transition can happen so quickly that you forget you have needs too.

Self-care for working moms doesn’t have to be complicated. Even a few minutes to check in with
yourself after work can matter.

Working moms: what helps you transition from work mode to mom mode?

PART 2 : At the time, everything I was doing made perfect sense to me.

I genuinely believed I was famous. I thought strangers were looking at me because they recognized me. I spent all my money, maxed out my credit cards and ended up in debt because, in my mind, I was rich.

Looking back now, I understand that period of my life completely differently.

It was my first manic episode. And it wouldn’t be my last.

I’m sharing these parts of my story because living with bipolar disorder isn’t just a diagnosis for me—it’s something I’ve had to learn to understand through my own experiences.

More of my story coming. 🤍 follow @backtoherdaily k

I think I’m finally ready to tell this story.

December 2015 was the beginning of a chapter of my life I never expected.

There have been hospitalizations, diagnoses, medication, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, motherhood, postpartum depression, good seasons and some incredibly difficult ones.

I’m not sharing because I have everything figured out.

I’m sharing because after 10 years, I know how isolating it can feel when you don’t recognize yourself anymore—or when you know something isn’t right but you’re afraid to say it out loud.

So we’re going to talk about it here.

The real stuff. One story at a time. 🤍

I love being a mom. But I wasn’t prepared for everything that came with becoming one.

The emotional changes. The anxiety. The depression. The moments when I didn’t even feel like myself.

I experienced postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, and rage. And for a long time, I wondered why nobody talked about this part of motherhood.

I’m sharing my story because I know there’s another mom out there who needs to hear that she’s not alone.

You can love your baby and still have a hard time. Both can be true. 🤍

Mom to mom, what do you wish someone had told you before becoming a mother?

I created my daily check-in because I wanted space to express my feelings in writing—but needed it to fit into everyday life without drawing a blank every time.

Five minutes was the intention. Not a full life review or another thing to perfect.

These prompts are an invitation to reflect, with no polished answers required.

Save this for a moment that’s yours.

Somewhere between the laundry, the meals, the routines, and making sure everyone else is okay…

you stopped asking yourself how YOU were doing.

Not on purpose.

Life just got busy, and your needs slowly moved to the bottom of the list.

And maybe you don’t need to completely reinvent yourself.

Maybe you just need a few quiet minutes to hear yourself again.

That’s why I created Back To Her. ♡

A simple, undated check-in for the woman who’s ready to start making a little space for herself again.

No pressure to keep up. No perfect routine.

Just you, a few honest questions, and a moment that’s yours.

If this feels like something you’ve been needing, you can find Back To Her through the link in my bio. ♡

It was never just about the lip gloss.

It was about finally wanting to do something for myself again.

Putting a little effort into me.
Looking in the mirror and recognizing pieces of the woman I was before I became responsible for everyone else.

Motherhood changed me in so many beautiful ways.

But finding myself again has been about realizing I’m still allowed to be a woman outside of being Mom.

And sometimes, finding your way back to yourself starts with something as small as putting on the lip gloss. 🤍 Can you relate ?

Not bad for under 2k followers 👀

Keep going and try not to compare your journey to someone else’s. We are all on different missions.

Slide 7 is my fav pic. 🥰

Here I am nearly 6 months pregnant. Not realizing I was only becoming.

I really thought there would be an age where I’d finally feel like I had life figured out.

Who I am.
What I want.
Where I’m going.

Instead, I’ve changed directions, outgrown old versions of myself, started over, and learned things I never planned on learning.

And maybe that’s the point.

Maybe we’re not supposed to arrive at some perfectly finished version of ourselves.

Maybe we’re supposed to keep becoming.

I still don’t have it all figured out — but I trust myself a little more while I do. 🤍

Save this for the days you feel like you should be further along. @backtoherdaily

You start getting quieter.
Pulling away. Saying “I’m fine.”

Meanwhile, part of you is wondering why nobody has noticed.

I’ve learned the hard way that sometimes we have to tell people what they can’t see.

“I’m not okay” is enough to start. 🤍
