My social media has always been a lived, shared experience. Sometimes where work, brands and life overlap it gets a little blurry and at times confuses me to no end. 😅

Thank God, there was no confusion with this one.

I’ve said it before but it’s worth saying again. Spending time with @trailwayscamps was a perspective shift. Seeing the joy people carry, despite the limitations they face, and watching them meet and surpass whatever challenge has a way of making you reconsider some of your own excuses.

I’m grateful I got to spend a couple days with them, and even more grateful for the opportunity to help share their story and mission.

If what Trailways is doing connects with you, follow along, share their story, or help support another camper.

Triumph demo rides:
Friday + Saturday: 8am–5pm
Sunday: 8am–3pm

Three days. Motorcycles. Stories. Bad Beard is back behind the mic.

See you at Barber. taken in Barber Motorsports Park by @badbeard

We made it!!!

Party at Dummy Brothers today at 5.

Come hang out! Bring the bike, bring a babe, bring that one dude who somehow knows everybody but nobody knows what he does for work.(our is @badbeard)

We’ll have motorcycles, cold pop, good people, and enough questionable decisions to make Monday feel real far away.

5 PM at Dummy Brothers Cycles.

P.S. When you get here, park the bikes up front or along the side of the building. Show it off! Both the front entrance and side entrance will be open. Cars park next door and walk in.

The party is happening inside the main shop. BYOB. ICE and coolers available on site.

Rain or shine, we’re doing this. And if you get a little wet, don’t worry. JB has his backpack blower ready to dry everybody off like a pit crew with poor judgment.

Also, expect to have your picture taken. We’re proud of what we’ve been building and we’re ready to start sharing more of Dummy Brothers with the community and capturing these moments as we grow is a big part of that!

#SWFL is home. And we want this place to grow alongside the people who support it, ride with us, stop by the shop, and keep showing up. Today is part of that.

Big thanks to our neighbors on Halifax 👏
@southtrailfd for keeping an eye on us - 👨‍🚒
@roughedgesmotomedia for bringing us together 🧑🏼‍🎤
@rossymead for pumpin the tunes 🎶
@maksflickz23 for the undoubted bangers and wall hangers 🖼️ 📸

What a week!

Got connected to Trailways Camps on Sanibel and signed on as Blue Team leader for their first set of day camps. I showed up to serve, but left with far more than I brought.

I won’t forget singing with Molly, swimming lessons with the team, or, as no one would be surprised, pretended to be pirates on our kayaks with Matthew.

We cruised Pine Island Sound for dolphins, kayaked Tarpon Bay, sang some of the best karaoke you’ll ever hear, and dominated multicard bingo.

We made art. We made slimmmme. We hit the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum to touch some squishy stuff, and the Sanibel Fire Department came out to scout future recruits.

But most importantly we laughed.

What stayed with me most was watching our campers try things that scared them but doing it anyway.

Watching people step into the water nervous but come out proud. People singing in front of a room encouraged by those (Kailyn🎶) leading with gusto.

I watched people trust each other and show up as themselves without second guessing it.

I spend too much time predicting what comes next. How something will go. How I’ll be received.

Trailways reminded me there is something freeing about showing up fully as yourself with the fear still there.

Their language calls every camper something special.

What got me is how many of them already knew it.

I’ve been on a literal and a figurative island lately, and what I’ve found is that I want to live more of my life in service, around people who remind me to be present and brave.

Huge respect to Angie and the Red Team, and to…

Karan, Jamie, Kelly, Julia, Paul, Olivia, Rocco, Sonia, Mr. Jim, Tina and our fearless leaders and founders Sharon and Jerry Miller for everything they poured into this.

Grateful I got to be a small part of it. This won’t be my last Trailways camp.

Fort Myers to Sunrise, a little Miami Beach exploring, Monster Jam with my best friend TJ, and a few hundred miles on the Buell Super Cruiser.

And yes, you have to make the recap video.

For tax purposes.

That’s how business works. I don’t make the rules.

But seriously, grateful for every mile I get to travel and explore on this incredible machine. Working with manufacturers putting out bikes that push our industry forward is what it’s all about.

Maybe we see how the hammerhead navigates Florida’s back roads next…🧐 🦈 by @badbeard

South side of the Caloosahatchee, thinking about how "the privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are" Carl Jung. 🧙‍♂️

You don't find that in the shallow end. Sometimes you just dive in, trusting there's solid ground even when you can't see the bottom.

Nothing's changed about the pursuit. Still building Bad Beard, still growing the work in SWFL, still riding alongside companies like Buell and still a traveling Fall Guy. What's shifted is personal, not professional, and geography's still working itself out. But that's not slowing anything down. Some days it just means re-mustering the sails and moving forward, whether I feel like it or not. ⛵️

So rest assured, your boy's jumping in head first. Swinging for the deep from the trees. Thanks for coming along for the swim! taken in Caloosahatchee River - Downtown Ft. Myers by @badbeard

Landed in Miami to explore and shoot. First light off 95 near MIA and a squad of betties blows by me at the cross street. Like any sensible photog out for an adventure I ended my call with @stark_everything and began the chase.

Note to the casual rider: rolling up on a group of strangers and trying to hold pace is not something I recommend. Add the fact that I shoot from the bike and that is another layer of lasagna. So real gratitude to these riders for letting me tuck in and work.

Now, to my SoFlo creators and content girlies. Who are these people? Drop a tag. I have several more shots I would love to pass on. taken in Miami, Florida by @badbeard

Finding opportunity in the adventure.

Some days the adventure is sunsets and Sublime. Other times it’s whitewash and White Chapel.

We don’t get a say in what weather we ride in, but we do get to choose how we show up for it.

If I’m being honest, lately I’ve been showing up bemoaning my adventure as presented.

The miles stack up, and somewhere along the way I couldn’t see past the distance I had to travel to find the next rest stop. Focusing on every inconvenience and slight, as if pondering my plight would somehow present the solution.

Well, as fortune would have it, my IRL ride home from Tampa to Fort Myers, Saturday, was met by a supercell thunderstorm that wanted to join me on my trip.

The destination wasn’t gonna change, and I haven’t done the latest update for a self driving Buell, so I wrapped my gear in plastic and continued forward.

What I found on the road was three hours of real physical challenge. 80 mph bee stings turned into serpentine lines around cars with their flashers on, then finding out how much hydroplaning could be avoided with the traction control turned off.

It was in this time I had the chance to reflect on life’s perceived challenges and showing up anyway.

I could have stopped under a bridge and waited out the storm, but according to my radar, the only way out was through. So I cranked my Cardo and serenaded I-75 until I saw the sun.

So what does this have to do with Miccosukee cops and monster trucks?!?

Looking back on last week’s ride and seeing the opportunities presented, paired with the smiles of all the incredible people I got to meet along the way, reminds me, and more importantly encourages me, to press on.

Those moments are easy to miss when you’re too busy staring at the miles left to travel.

Finding the sun hiding behind the clouds and remembering it was there the whole time. Sometimes the contrast is what makes you appreciate it when it finally breaks through.

I woke up this morning no more motivated, with no extra fuel in my tank, but determined all the same.

Maybe finding opportunity in the adventure isn’t about getting a better adventure.

Maybe it’s about getting better at seeing the one already in front by @badbeard
