POSTS STORIES REELS

When Womxn Gather is an artistic documentary series by @aamowi_ exploring how women and trans non-binary folx shape and sustain nightlife, music, and contemporary culture in their cities.

The series investigates the nuances of how these alternative subcultures, built by womxn, manifest on and off the African continent, shaped by colonial legacies and present-day socio-political realities.

The first of this series explores Lagos, Nigeria and is supported by @obodo_nigeria by @badgalbob

Sound design reel! 🌞

I’m officially open to work on sound design projects so hit me up for films, installations, live performances, fashion shows, soundscapes, exhibitions and anything else

Over the past few years, one of the ways I’ve poured back into and pulled myself back from the dark night of the soul has been to lean, fully and fearlessly into artistic exploration. It made me confront wounded, abandoned, ashamed, neglected parts of myself and meet them with love.

And I realised with new eyes just how beautiful they are.

Circling back to my first love, music, through DJing I ventured even further to explore soundscapes; these abstract mysteries unbound by any conventional structure or rules. Not only did I realise I have free will and can actually do whatever I want 😂 it also helped me understand just how powerful music is and the role sounds play in almost every aspect of our waking lives. Wielded correctly, you can make people feel….anything!

I’ve had the privilege of working with some amazing filmmakers and creatives since who have trusted me to layer their precious works with music and sound. I’m also proud to say I’m working on my own film which I directed and scored. (I seriously can’t wait to share it!✨) In the meantime, here’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to.

Enjoyyyy

Still buzzing from the energy from this night! I had such a blast at @thelotradio playing with the sweetest @rose.kourts on her show GEMS.

Thank you Kourt for having me. Thank you to all the beautiful bodies that filled the room and brought the vibe: 10/10 experience ✨

Here’re a few highlights.

🔊 SOUND ON 🔊

Grateful for the opportunity to make this super special mix for @novisaparty. I’m such a fan of their collective and everything they stand for from quality curation to musical representation to the politics of the rave and the dance floor.

This mix is a journey and a celebration of global electronic music, how interconnected we all are in the Black diaspora and our undeniable contributions to the world of EDM.

I know attention spans are incredibly short these days but I still want to share some snippets of some of my favourite moments in this mix. This is really how I dance in the function and somehow it matches the songs each time

Check out the full mix on @applemusic in bio and let me know what you think! ✨
