👀 Up Eats came to us to upgrade their coffee program in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary! ☕️

We worked with them to come up with a machine package + and a bespoke payment plan that made sense for them. 👌🏼

Within a couple of weeks we installed their new machine, trained their staff, and they were serving our 85+ graded Blackwater Blend coffee every day. 🔥

We’re bringing some serious international coffee energy to Cork this week! 🌎🙌

Meet Irene Villavicencio from MAV Coffee, El Salvador, who is travelling all the way to Ireland to be the EMCEE of the 2026 Irish Aeropress Championships this Friday, October 16th! 🎤🏆

And she’s not stopping there… 👀

This Saturday, October 17th, Irene will be joining us again as a key speaker at A Day of Coffee, right here at Badger & Dodo, 87 South Mall, Cork City. TWO DAYS. TWO EVENTS. ONE VERY GOOD REASON TO TALK ABOUT COFFEE. ☕️❤️

🌱 So, who is Irene?

Irene is a fifth-generation coffee producer from El Salvador who transformed a struggling family coffee operation into MAV Coffee — a purpose-driven specialty coffee project rooted in sustainability, regeneration and community empowerment.

She’s passionate about more than what ends up in your cup. Irene and her team are working to build a coffee future that supports the land, the people who grow it and the communities around them. 🌿🤝

At A Day of Coffee, Irene will be sharing:

🌱 The story behind MAV Coffee and her family’s journey as coffee producers
🌎 The importance of their agronomist and the role they play in producing exceptional coffee

☕️ MEET THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE COFFEE! 🌎🔥

We’ve got farmers. We’ve got brokers. We’ve got roasters. We’ve got milk. And now we’re bringing a little coffee nerdiness, research and serious green coffee knowledge to the table. 🤓☕

Joining us at A Day of Coffee on Saturday, October 17th is Phil Magowan, from Falcon, based at The Roast Works in Belfast. 🇮🇪

Phil has been working in coffee since 2014, wearing just about every hat going — barista, roaster, trader, researcher and writer. 🎩☕️

In 2021, he completed an MPhil in Economic and Social History at the University of Cambridge, researching how coffee quality was constructed within colonial Kenya’s coffee supply chain.

Yep. This is a man who has thought about coffee. A LOT. 😂

Phil continues to publish research through academic outlets and through his own roasting and research project, Exemplar Coffee. He has also worked with green coffee social enterprise Raw Material, before joining Falcon, where he works with roasters across the UK and Ireland to connect them with coffees and sourcing projects from both Falcon and Raw Material.

And what’s he bringing to Cork? 👀
