Save this for your Thailand trip 🇹🇭📍

This is the exact route I took through Thailand, and if you're trying to figure out how to hit multiple islands without going back and forth, this is a good one to save.

📍 1. Phuket
Flew into Phuket and left a day later. It reminded me a little too much of Waikiki, and personally I'm a Kauai vibe. I wasn't a fan.

📍 2. Koh Phi Phi
This is where the trip really started. Spent 3–4 amazing days here, met some incredible people, and had one of my favorite stretches of the entire trip.

📍 3. Ao Nang
Did an amazing hike to the Buddha at Tiger Cave with some ridiculous views, then went to feed elephants.

📍 4. Koh Samui
Took the boat over to Samui. Definitely more of a party vibe, but still plenty to explore. Zip-Line was dope. This is where we found out the Full Moon Party was happening a day later.

📍 5. Koh Phangan
Another boat over for the Full Moon Party 🌕. Stayed one night, experienced the madness, and kept it moving the next day.

📍 6. Koh Tao
Boat over to Koh Tao for 2–3 days of snorkeling, island life, and much more relaxed vibes. Easily one of my favorite stops.

📍 7. Bangkok
Boat back to the mainland, then a LONG bus ride up to Bangkok. And when I say long… LONG. 🤣

📍 8. Pattaya
Took a shuttle from Bangkok to Pattaya, spent another 2–3 days there, and went to Rolling Loud Thailand back in 2024. Then it was a shuttle back to Bangkok and a flight home.

🇻🇳 Planning a trip to Vietnam? Save this route.

I started in the north and worked my way south through Vietnam, and every stop felt completely different.

📍 Hanoi
This is where I started. Busy streets, insane traffic, street food everywhere, coffee culture, the Old Quarter, and that organized chaos that makes Hanoi feel like Hanoi.

Hanoi is also where a lot of travelers start before heading north to do the famous Ha Giang Loop. It’s usually a multi day scooter trip through the mountains and probably one of the most popular things backpackers do in Vietnam.

I skipped it 😂

Four days riding through the mountains on a motorbike just wasn’t really my type of trip. But if that sounds like your thing, definitely look into adding the Ha Giang Loop while you’re up north.

📍 Ninh Binh
A complete change of pace. Mountains, rivers, rice fields, temples, and some of the most beautiful scenery of the entire trip. If you want nature, put this on your list.

📍 Da Nang
Beach city vibes. Not Miami but still. Modern, easy to get around, great food, long beaches, and a perfect place to slow things down for a few days.

📍 Hoi An
Probably one of the most beautiful stops in Vietnam. The Ancient Town, lanterns everywhere at night, river boats, markets, cafés, and some of the best shopping I did beside Saigon square in Ho Chi Minh. This is where you should get designer knock offs if that’s your thing. They are also known for having the best seamstress. Amazing fabrics. I got fitted and bought 3 suits. MUST DO!

📍 Ho Chi Minh City
My final stop and my favorite city in Vietnam. Completely different energy from Hanoi. Fast, modern, chaotic, incredible food, nightlife, rooftop bars, and ALWAYS something going on.

Hanoi → Ninh Binh → Da Nang → Hoi An → Ho Chi Minh City 🇻🇳

Would you do the Ha Giang Loop or skip it like I did? 😂

Save this route if Vietnam is on your list and follow @BaggageClaimBeef for more travel routes, tips, prices, and everything I learn along the way.

If you’re shopping in Japan, listen up. 🇯🇵

Don’t get caught looking like us, carrying shopping bags all over the subway. 😂

Fill those bags up, take them to the airport, drop them off, and keep enjoying your trip without dragging everything around with you.

If you don’t have bags go to IKEA and get them there.

Travel hack fs.

We did this at Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Osaka, at the JAL ABC luggage storage counter in Terminal 1.

JAL ABC has luggage storage on both the 1F arrival floor and 4F departure floor.

When we were there:
Medium: about $4.80/day — suitcases, golf bags, etc.
Large: about $7.70/day — surfboards, skis, and other oversized items.

Price may have gone up but medium is still only $6.40 per day.

Look for the JAL ABC counter around the baggage/repacking area, or just ask airport staff where JAL ABC luggage storage is.

For a few bucks a day, it’s WELL worth not carrying all that stuff around Japan.

Believe me you’re walking 20,000 steps per day.🥵

Thank me later. ✈️🇯🇵

This right here is one of the things I respected most about Japan.

I saw elderly people hunched over, moving slow, walking with canes… but still WALKING.

Still taking the subway.

Still moving through life independently.

And I saw this more than once.

The entire time I was there, I didn’t see obesity.

I didn’t see anyone using a wheelchair.

What I did see was people walking everywhere, staying active, eating differently, and a culture where movement is just part of everyday life.

This man could barely stand straight, but there he was making his way through the subway on his own.

That kind of independence at his age says something.

Japan made me look at aging completely differently.

Respect. 🇯🇵

🚨 SHOWERS IN ZION! 🚨

It’s $4 per coin, and each coin gives you 5 minutes. I used two coins, so I got 10 minutes for $8.

Big tip: bring your own towel. They charge $6 for one there, so save that money and pack one.

Also, the water took about a full minute to get hot, so keep that in mind when your timer starts.

For $8, though, this is perfect after a long day hiking or if you’re camping around Zion.

You drive through darkness for a few minutes… then Zion hits you with this.

If heaven has an entrance, I imagine it looks something like this.

I found a tattoo friendly onsen in Kyoto 🤫♨️

If you’ve got ink, you know most onsens in Japan will turn you away at the door. This one won’t.

Kurama Onsen, up in the mountains just outside the city. Hot water, mountain air, and nobody staring at your tattoos 🙏🏽

Save this for your Japan trip ✈️

🇯🇵 Here's my route through Japan and what I wish I knew before I got there.

Landed in Tokyo. One night in Shibuya, then a couple nights in Shinjuku, with a Harajuku run in between.

Hopped on the Shinkansen south to Kyoto and saw some beautiful temples ⛩️

Kyoto to Nara for the deer park and the giant Buddha. Honestly one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. You buy deer cookies, bow to them they bow to you and you feed them. It’s insane! A must do.

Then down to Osaka, over to Kobe, back to Osaka, for a flight out to Okinawa.
Then back to Osaka one more time, and flew home from there.

Every area had its own vibe. Tokyo up north was colder, Osaka down south was nice and warm.

🚨We were walking about 20,000 steps a day, riding the subway nonstop, and every single day was packed. By the end of week one my feet were done and I was ready to go home 😅

🚨🚨Pro tip: plan one rest day for every 3 days of activities. Stay in, relax at the hotel, then get back out there the next day. You'll enjoy the trip way more.

🚨🚨🚨Two more things. My allergies went crazy out there so if you suffer from that bring Claritin. And if your stomach slows down from all the new food, check out my 7-Eleven Japan concoction post 🙏🏽

Save this if Japan is on your list ✈️
