They say when we make plans, God’s up there laughing. Because I think, I think, I think… but the truth is, who the hell knows what the future holds? Right now, I’m just fluid. I’m like water. Like Bruce Lee said, “Be water.” I’m rolling with life instead of trying to control every single part of it. (Virgo) And it feels good. I just started my 39th chapter, and this is a good chapter. I can feel it. One of the biggest things travel has taught me is that you don’t have to play life by the rules you were handed. You still need money in Asia. 😆 But the cheat code right now is geo-arbitrage: Figure out how to make U.S. dollars while living somewhere that allows those dollars to work for you. Lower your cost of living. Stack more money. Invest more money. Let that money make you more money. That’s how you start setting your future self up. If you have the ability to do it, do it now. Stop waiting until everything is perfect. Stop thinking you need your entire life mapped out before you leave. Just try it. You can always come back. 🎙️ BAGGAGE CLAIM BEEF PRESENTS: LISTEN SHORTY VOL. 1: Prison & the Decisions That Changed My Life Follow @ListenShortyPodcast for more clips, conversations, lessons, mistakes, money, travel, growth, and everything I’ve learned along the way. Travel has opened my eyes in ways I never expected. The more of the world I see, the more I realize how much of our identity we attach to material things. The car. The clothes. The jewelry. The house. The things we think tell everybody who we are. And I’m not gonna sit here and act like I’m completely past that. I’m not. This is something I’m currently learning and working through in this chapter of my life. Travel has helped me shed a lot of my ego. You go places where people have way less than you, but somehow they’re smiling more. It makes you question what you actually need to be happy. I still like nice things. 😂 But I’m learning that there’s a difference between enjoying things and needing those things to validate who you are. Maybe real wealth is having the freedom to go where you want, experience life, meet people, see the world and actually be present for it. I’m still figuring it out. My addiction to golf is taking away from all my other passions. So when I get to go out and board and fish and ride these days it feels extra special and meaningful. 🙏🏻
