I was asked by @timesofindia to share my opinion on what lessons can we learn from the furry apes that showed up at our doorstep
1. They have to go back
2. Let’s look at how the #orangutan’s habitat is being destroyed for #palmoil and our role as consumers
3 . Hundreds of #reptiles that also get caught in the live animal trade but never get this level of sympathy by @bahardutt

There’s a new book out from @juggernaut.in by dr Asad Rahmani , I found the book delightful , learnt a lot about individual bird species and what needs to be done to bring back bird song in our lives .. you don’t need to be a obsessive bird watcher to enjoy this book there’s much to learn here ! #bookreviewersofinstagram #birdingbooks @indianpittabooks by @bahardutt

Renowned biologist and environmental journalist Bahar Dutt takes you on a haunting journey from the chaotic fish landing centres of Eastern India to the sun-soaked state of Goa on the Western Coast... What her team uncovers will change how you look at our oceans forever.

The film covers species like Bull, Hammerhead, Silky, Bamboo, Spadenose, and Thresher sharks, including Manta Ray and many other rays species, arriving at fish landing centres.

Through heart-wrenching imagery, this film confronts the ultimate question: How do we save slow-growing apex predators without destroying the livelihoods of the traditional fishermen who depend on them? And who is really responsible for the vanishing species from our oceans?

Watch a powerful new documentary that exposes the hidden crisis beneath the waves “SOS: Save Our Sharks”. Streaming on Animal Planet & Discovery plus. by @bahardutt

This week on Shared spaces- Bridging The Gap- Highways, railway tracks, power lines, and canals now carve through wild habitats, fragmenting migration routes leaving biodiversity to navigate man-made obstacles.
Bridging The Gap profiles individuals such as @saket_badola @supriyasahujs @wildwithwolf @srinivasreddy_66 and @samirsinha100 trying to find solutions backed by science.. The film does not merely document crisis; it illuminates solutions. In the breathtaking final act, @vjbedi wildlife filmmaker and photographer travels to Assam, where wild elephants, against all odds, have begun to adapt to linear infrastructure by using riverine islands. Produced by @thehabitatstrust @bediuniversal
