Ho Ly Wars!!! (tldr, it was a great day)

32 lifters put on an absolute SHOW in Massachusetts despite crap weather and travel conditions. I had the honor of being a part of it, and I am so incredibly thankful to @mskiba22 and @jruoppo and the Holy Wars directors for the invite. To be along side these athletes was such a treat; history was made across so many disciplines, it's really is difficult to describe the atmosphere if you're not there (so you know, come out for HW4)
Oh, and I had myself a little day too.

1201 squat (50lb PR)
622 bench (11 lb PR)
683 dead
2507 total with the kilo conversion (38 lb PR)

Lightest person ever to squat 1200 (260.8)
22nd person ever to squat 1200
# 3 275 squat of all time

Holy Wars
Mannnnnn..... I got a lot to say but not a lot at the same time. Felt a lot of feelings when that last deadlift came down, and still feeling a lot of them (as Bill would say, that's my fault for having them)

To my team- thank you. Y'all are amazing and I can't ask for better friends or support.
To my family- thank you. I don't get to do this hobby without support, encouragement and understanding from yall.
To everyone who reached out at the meet and on the socials- I love yall, thank you.

2469 total with the kilo conversion (nice). 169 lb total PR. #7 all time squat at 275. Top 50 all time total at 275. #24 all time squat all weight classes. It was a good day, to have a good day.

Bit of a late post, but I’ve gotta say, what a time.
What a blessing it was to participate in such a meet, that the Lord blessed me with the opportunity to break limits and to perform on such an amazing platform. First thanks to God for this blessing, my performance wasn’t for my own glory, but for His.
Thanks to @bluecollarbarbell for hosting SOH and for inviting me to compete, I can’t express with words how grateful I am. It’s such a surreal experience, and it’s such an amazing environment.
Thanks to my dad. I never would’ve made it to this point in powerlifting if it wasn’t for you. I’m so thankful that I’ve been blessed with a man like you as my father, and I really can’t say that enough.
Here’s to more meets in the future, that I can continue to further myself in this sport, and continue to glorify God with this sport.
Road to 205 begins now, these lifts will sprout up soon.

Strength of Heros. It's not about your lifts. It's not about records. It's not about feds. It's not about division (s)
It's about unity. Its about taking weight you didn't ask for (from the opening ceremony, thank you Chris)
One of the last few meets that is bigger than the sport. Thank you @mendelsonstrength @jaycurrytrainer @bluecollarbarbell and the staff. Few platforms I'd be ok with my children stepping on, let alone promoting it to them as a bucket list event.
Last weekend, I had the honor of checking off one myself. Coaching my son at Strength of Heros 6. 2 generations of Bains have competed here, and I look forward to the day I get to bring my granddaughter and/or other grandchildren I haven't met yet to this venue, for the history. For the stories. For the strength of real Heros.

I stood at Ground Zero 5 years ago, in town for the first Strength of Heros Memorial meet in Bohemia NY. We visited this site and words escape me to this day. Powerful and heavy, we just walked.
Today we're here on Long Island, Nolan competing tomorrow in the 6th Strength of Heros meet.
Remembering the suffocating silence of that day 25 years ago reminds me.... 9/11 was a terrible tragedy and reminds of the frailty of freedom. But the America of 9/12 is what I will tell people about til my last breath, that is as close to the America that was signed into existence 250 years ago. United. Scared. Bruised. But standing.

Hug your loved ones, tell friends they matter, and Never Forget.

Meet week. I've had the honor and privilege of being a part of every single @bluecollarbarbell Strength of Heros. I have spotted, announced, competed, basically everything but judged (never) or ran it.
This year is a little different. @bain.nolan08 is competing this year, and I'll be handling him along with @kota_in_kilos , as well as watching @kguck20 have a big day. Stoked is an understatement
Let me tell you, if you're an athlete (not just a lifter), a fan, an American- this is a meet you have to experience. Live streams and meet recaps are cool, but to be on Long Island, 9/11 weekend, in a meet honoring our heros.... there are few atmospheres like it.

Thank you @mendelsonstrength , @jaycurrytrainer , @bluecollarbarbell for making this an incredible meet for 6 years now. It's a special weekend and we can't wait to see everyone
