For my peeps in the Tdot area …The Freedom Table, a community supper is being organized through the Freedom Is A Must Foundation for Oct 10th.

We’ll be bringing community members and families together for a warm meal, and we’re also putting together take-home food kits with groceries and meal essentials for guests to bring home.

If you’d be willing to make a small donation to help us fill the table. Even $10, $25, or $50 makes a difference, and if you can’t donate right now, even sharing our fundraiser would mean a lot.

Every contribution gets us a little closer to filling the table.

Check the post for the details & don’t forget to give us a follow on IG @freedomisamustfoundation and share/ like our posts!

Thank you so much!

Being in the same space as Prime Minister Mia Mottley touched me more deeply than I can fully explain.

There was a part of me standing there that was proud, grateful, and present — but there was also a part of me thinking about everything it took to get to that moment.

The seasons when I doubted myself.
The times I carried more than people knew.
The moments when I felt tired, overwhelmed, or unsure of where life was taking me.
The times I had to rebuild myself quietly while still showing up for others.

So standing there, in that room, I felt something shift inside me.

I wasn’t just thinking about leadership or titles. I was thinking about resilience. About identity. About roots. About the strength it takes to keep moving forward when life has tested you in ways people may never see.

As a woman of Barbadian heritage, it meant something to see a Barbadian woman occupying such an important space in the world. It reminded me that representation is not abstract. Sometimes it reaches you personally. Sometimes it makes you look at your own life differently.

I thought about where I came from.
I thought about the people who poured into me.
I thought about the woman I used to be.
And I thought about the woman I am still becoming.

I have had chapters that stretched me, humbled me, and changed me. But I have also learned that strength does not always look like having everything together. Sometimes strength is simply choosing to keep going.

That is why this moment meant so much to me.

It reminded me that our stories are still being written.

That we can carry our struggles and still walk into rooms with purpose.

That we can experience difficult seasons and still become someone we are proud of.

And that sometimes, without even realizing it, we arrive at a moment that shows us just how far we have come.

For me, this was one of those moments.

I will carry it with gratitude, pride, humility, and a renewed commitment to keep serving, building, and creating opportunities for others.

Some moments are not about who is standing beside you.

They are about finally recognizing the strength of the person you have become. 🇧🇧🇨🇦❤️ by @bajancyn

A heartfelt thank you to BLP - Canada for the opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley.

It was truly a memorable afternoon before the gala—an opportunity to connect, listen, exchange ideas, and share space with members of our Barbadian community and diaspora.

Moments like these remind me of the importance of community, connection, representation, and keeping our ties to Barbados strong, wherever in the world we may call home. It’s our duty

I’m grateful for the warm welcome, the conversations, and the opportunity to represent Barbados House Montreal in the room.

Many hands make light work. 🇧🇧❤️ and we got work to do

Thank you again, BLP Canada, for the invitation and hospitality.
