Since @big.ass.kids launched our music distribution platform @bak.musicman in November, we’ve onboarded dozens of artists into our community, many of whom are looking to work with vetted freelancers on their catalogue marketing or new rollouts, merch design, creative direction, content, and more. Music professionals who are freelancing — if you have bandwidth to work with indie artists, consider joining the B.A.K Play.Ground so we can pair you with artists looking to hire. In the wake of these awful LA fires, we’ve set up a fundraiser for our colleagues in need through the B.A.K Sandbox (501c3) @baksandbox. Please consider giving what you can - anything helps and 100% of the proceeds will be donated. Our industry runs on LA-based freelancers and small business owners who live check to check. Many of our colleagues have lost not only their homes, personal belongings, and general sense of peace, but also their ability to work. If you have suffered a loss due to the fires, please contact us directly so that we can do our absolute best to help. If you have any questions, please DM or email team@baksandbox.org. @big.ass.kids is excited to share an exciting and impactful initiative we’ve just launched called The BAK Sandbox. As a 501c3 nonprofit project,the @baksandbox is dedicated to providing vital support to music professionals impacted by the widespread industry layoffs. Over the past two years, nearly 100,000 jobs in the music, music/tech, and adjacent fields have been eliminated, and we are raising funds to provide professional development resources and opportunities for career sustainability. Through the funds we raise, we’ll be able to offer: - Free memberships to The @bakplay.ground community which provides direct access to artists, agencies, and companies seeking to hire vetted talent - Professional development workshops, courses and live discussions led by industry leaders and peers - Mental health and neurodivergent support services - Financial planning and business management resources to start their job-seeking, freelance, or entrepreneurial journey & more How you can contribute: - Make a monetary $ donation: You can find the donation link at www.baksandbox.org. We are a 501c3 project and are able to receive tax-deductible donations. - Partner with us: We are looking for solution-focused partners and thought leaders to help ideate best strategies for long-term solutions.
