B.A.K University is the evolution of our internship program. We have learned a lot over the last 4 years + 12 semesters of working with industry students and we’re excited to bring a more impactful experience to our interns moving forward!

Our accelerator program is designed to educate early-career music professionals through hands on projects, mentorship opportunities, live learning, networking, and more.

Announcing Wellness Weeklys in the @bakplay.ground

Working in music is hard, and for one hour each week we want to make it a little bit easier, together. Join us live in the Play.Ground every Thursday at 2p EST as we hold space for our members to breathe together, share feelings, thoughts, & resources related to wellness while working in the music industry.

This Thursday we kick off by addressing stress and anxiety while working in the music industry. Overwhelm, overthinking, overstressing, and failing to unplug plagues us all. Let’s talk about how we can reframe our thoughts and give ourselves peace of mind.

Hey Fam - It’s been a tough year for many of us, so we’re asking for your help.

🔴 Industry layoffs have surged over 300%
🔴 Women are fighting for a seat at the table, still filling only 15.6% of CEO roles.
🔴 1 in 3 caretakers say the industry has no support for balancing career and family.
🔴 Indie artists now manage nearly 80% of their careers alone
🔴 3 in 5 (60%) of women in music have been & continue to be harassed or assaulted.
🔴 More than 1 in 10 (11.4%) people who work in the music industry reported suicidal ideation in the last year. This is more than double the rate of the U.S. general population.
🔴 Around half of music professionals get insurance through federal programs or the Affordable Care Act (ACA), making them vulnerable to current policy changes.

This is why we’re asking you to make a starting contribution of $20.26. Your donation directly expands resources that @big.ass.kids is currently providing.

Hundreds of artists, music professionals, students, creatives of all kinds, labels, tech companies, and curators from over 20 countries have joined our global sandbox, where they connect directly, learn together, and share resources to help music careers grow. We’ve connected dozens of professionals with freelance opportunities, put on over 50 workshops and livestreams, given away three dozen memberships thanks to the @baksandbox initiative, and mentored over 75 young professionals!

We are proud of the work we’ve done over the past year, and are looking forward to continuing our growth by welcoming in artists from @bak.musicman, which is officially out of beta!
