SUNDAY SNAPSHOTS // Vol. 1

Dustin' off my digital shelves 📂🧹

Hey everyone! I know I've been pretty absent from this page over the last couple of years, but behind the scenes photography has only become a bigger part of my life.

In the past, I put a lot of pressure on this feed to be a "perfect" representation of my work to the point that I wouldn't share anything at all. My hard drives have been filling up with work and perspectives that many others haven’t seen.

So for 2026 I'm starting a new tradition to get back in the habit of sharing. Every Sunday this year, I'm diving into my archives to share a snapshot of my journey. This project will be a pretty mixed bag since I’m not restricting myself to any specific style. You’ll see a mix of portraits, landscapes, abstract work, pet pics, and some event recaps. There might be some new work tossed in with the throwbacks. Single shots or carousels. No real rules except to share something I made.

My website (shoutout bakarichpics.ca - link in bio) will be where my best work lives. I’m currently redeveloping that portfolio to showcase my collections in their best light, and this is my way to hold myself to that continuous improvement.

It feels great to be back! I’m super excited to share what I’ve been creating. See you next Sunday ✌️📸

13/52 - Cherry blossom adventure with Erin 🌸 🥰
Bringing my camera on spontaneous walks in the park like this is what makes photography so meaningful to me.

I love the way the pale pink grounds every shot. Can't wait for cherry blossom season coming up in Hamilton soon!

12/52 I'm looking at the moon in a whole new light following #Artemis 🌖
Here are some of my favourite snaps of the moon with my DSLR over the years. I've always loved how the moon can be more than just white on the black sky.

I love each and every phase of the moon and always has since I was a little kid. It's something that connects all of us on this planet. It's so familiar, but unknown. Right now with the Artemis missions, it represents exploration again, and it's just so inspiring to me.

One of the things I'm most excited to come out of the Artemis 2 mission are the INCREDIBLE new pictures of the moon up close that we'll have from human photographers! Good luck to the Artemis 2 crew and the team at home.

11/52 Oceanside profiles 🌊
On vacation a few years ago with family, we did a golden hour shoot on the beach. I love the way they all looked at the sun with a warm glow on their overlapping faces 🌅

I've always loved the way the boats add to the composition of this shot ⛵

10/52 - Davor's big day! 🕊️

There's something so special about the moments right before a big milestone. I love this first shot of mom stealing a quick kiss while Davor looks curiously at me 😄 It's such a joy to capture the pure love in the room and his natural curiosity.

This shoot was in the morning of a huge snowstorm, so all of the windows in the room acted like a huge softbox! Combining the soft natural lighting with my flash made for an interesting lighting mix

9/52: Snow day 🌨️

Week 8 - Bella 🤍
Two years and a few days ago.

This shoot was a beautiful but difficult one. Capturing Bella’s final days for @sarahtompaa and @jonathanholubowsky was a weight I didn't take lightly. Documenting this goodbye was heavy, especially with my own great memories with her, but being able to preserve her memory in this way is exactly why I pick up my camera. This truly felt like a celebration of her life. Rest easy, Bella.

Wk7 - Red Roses 🌹❤️
Thanks for preparing such a beautiful rose bouquet @everythingisrosieflorals ! I wanted to capture the gorgeous folding petals and the vivid colours of the arrangement. I definitely got lost in all the layers by @bakarichpics

The shot and the set 📸 Throwback to a little winter hike with the fam almost 3 years ago :) I’ve taken so many pics of my sister, brother-in-law, and niece (and now nephew) over the years and this was one of the first planned shoots we did!

Loved using the backlighting and the way my lens handled the direct sun in the back!
Feat. a little POV behind the lens setting up the shot.

Been busy and missed Sunday this week but I'm trying to keep the weekly vibe goin throughout the year ✌️ taken in Bruce Trail by @bakarichpics

SUNDAY SNAPSHOTS // Week 5

“Love is sweet, take a treat” 🍪🍰
The dessert tables at Becca’s bridal shower was just calling for some closeups! With grandparents that love baking, I’ve always seen how much work goes into making these delicious desserts and I love to capture the love and talent it takes to make them so visually and tastefully incredible.

These were certainly a challenge to get them sharp but stylized, and I had to adjust to using my flash in different parts of the room with various lighting. Bouncing my flash off the walls made for an interesting effect on many of these! I think the biggest challenge was not sneaking a couple while I shot the rest of the event 😅

SUNDAY SNAPSHOTS // Week 4

Taking a trip down memory lane today with some faves from Dario’s baptism. Today I actually had the honour of capturing his little brother Davor’s big day! 🕊️ It’s been such a joy watching the Dasovic family grow :)

Looking back, this was one of the first events where I felt like I nailed using my new flash for the pre portraits. I still remember the relief of not having to hunt for the window light!

There are so many great aspects to all of these shots, and one that sticks out to me is the way the candle flame reflects in the godfather’s eyes 🔥

Huge shoutout to the Dasovic family for the continued support! I can't wait to send over the beautiful shots from today!

Such a fun photoshoot to kick off Madeline’s bachelorette! 💁‍♀️ It was our best attempt at a JC Penny portrait session 😂
