Et voilà!
Here’s a big gable-end mural I painted in Bangor—without the scaffolding! :)
I’ve done quite a few murals, but this is the biggest one yet, and my first multi-story piece. It’s been an incredible learning journey, and all I want to do now is paint more!
Big thanks to Gwynedd Council for selecting me to paint this, I absolutely loved the whole project. Working with different community groups to develop the theme and imagery, as well as designing and painting, it was all such a joy. The mural is on the gable end of the @anneddni building in Bangor, and honestly, I couldn’t have dreamed of a better client. Everyone who works at and attends Anheddau is an absolute gem 💎
Now I’m going to stoke all the irons and apply for all the things, so I can get some more murals happening for next year! Feel free to get in touch if you know of such a project 🙏🏼✨
The project was funded by the Shared Prosperity Fund 💫

Et voilà!
Dyma furlun ar ochor adeilad beintiais ym Mangor—heb y sgaffaldiau! :) Rydw i wedi gwneud dipyn o furluniau, ond dyma’r un mwyaf eto, a yr un multi-stori cyntaf. Mae wedi bod yn daith ddysgu anhygoel, cwbl dwi eisiau ei wneud nawr yw peintio mwy!
Diolch yn fawr i Gyngor Gwynedd am fy newis i beintio hwn, roeddwn i wrth fy modd gyda’r holl brosiect. Roedd gweithio gyda gwahanol grwpiau cymunedol i ddatblygu’r thema a’r delweddau, yn ogystal â dylunio a phaentio, yn gymaint o bleser. Mae’r murlun ar ochor adeilad @anneddni ym Mangor, a dweud y gwir, allwn i ddim bod wedi breuddwydio am well cleient. Mae pawb sy’n gweithio ac yn mynychu Anheddau yn seren 🌟
Nawr rwyf am chwilio am mwy o furluniau ar gyfer y flwyddyn nesaf! Mae croeso i chi gysylltu os ydych yn gwybod am brosiect o’r fath beth
Ariannwyd y prosiect gan y Gronfa Ffyniant Gyffredin

I held a collage workshop with @carurcefni on the theme of Source to Sea on Ynys Môn (Anglesey, North West Wales) 🌊

Participants created artwork celebrating the many species that live in the Afon Cefni catchment, from the river’s source near Capel Coch, through Llangefni, and out to sea in Caernarfon Bay.

These wonderful pieces will be inspiration for an upcoming mural. It’ll most likely happen in the new year, watch this space! Thank you to everyone who came along. It was really lovely to see so much creative energy from all ages. 💙

This workshop held at @orielynysmon during their Autumn Festival
/
Wnes i hwyluso gweithdy collage gyda @carurcefni ar y thema O’r Tarddiad i’r Môr ar Ynys Môn 🌊

Wnath y cyfranogwyr creu waith celf yn dathlu’r pob math o rywogaethau sy’n byw yn dalgylch Afon Cefni, o darddiad yr afon yn agos i Capel Coch, trwy Llangefni, ac allan i’r môr ym Mae Caernarfon.

Bydd y darnau gwych hyn yn ysbrydoliaeth ar gyfer murlun sydd i ddod. Mae’n debyg y bydd yn digwydd yn y flwyddyn newydd, cadw golwg! Diolch i bawb ddaeth draw. Roedd yn hyfryd iawn gweld cymaint o egni creadigol o bob oed 💙

Cynhaliwyd y gweithdy hwn yn @orielynysmon yn ystod eu Gŵyl Hydref

Here’s some lovely feedback from the audience during my Source to Sea project sharing event, which I organised with support from @celfcymruarts, filmed by the talented Pete Kneen.

Artists & organisations presenting on the evening included:

@rosiefarey
@calongron Rhodri Owen
@geiriaugwain Lowri Hedd Vaughan
@wild_oysters_project Conwy and the oysters🦪
@mothfairy Rhianna Parry
@northwalesriverstrust
and myself!

This Source to Sea project highlighted a myriad of ways the rivers and oceans are connected, drawing my focus in on the connection between trees and the ocean.

I’ve been neglecting my sketchbook, gotta love the unprepared bad drawings:)

I know I probably need to make a reel with a voice over and captions these days, but I’m a little shy and reluctant to be a content creator haha, building up to it, maybe!The sound of the water is way superior to my rambles anyway:)

So nice to spend time with the river 💙helping me to cool down. So many speedy dragonflies and waterboatmen zooming about

I know I need to change my thinking on this ‘content creation’ title. We illustrators have the power to be ‘storytellers’ and that’s cool thing, this title feels less invasive

Here’s a banana tree and toucan I painted shining in the spring sun with Flavio @casita_uk 🌴 🌞 Happy to see the colours worked out, my last sighting of it was in a wintry barn whilst painting a few months back:)
These props were painted to decorate Casita’s catering hut, pitching their new Latinas menu to festivals this summer, (if you trade at a festival you have to apply and ‘pitch’ to be there). Over the moon to hear that this year they will be trading @weoutherefest for the first time ✨ Along with many more such as @shambalafest @tropicalpressure @medicinefestival
