Always late to the game (but never too late to the party).
I know quite a few pics of this bike floated around instragram by now, but I still wanted to share some myself.

This bike was build for @dear_susan_ who wanted to jump onto the funky new 32" train, whilst still keeping it safe by being able to run 29" wheels via the second BB shell.

It was quite a fun (and sometimes scary) project, as I've had no parts of the bike at my workshop up until the show, so I couldn't really check any dimensions beforehand.

At the end it went well enough to present the bike at the @whiteind x @astralcycling booth who were kind enough to supply the majority of their blingy parts.

The frame was oxide blackened which resulted in the metallic look which left all the welds and fillets exposed.

Here it is:

I can't say how grateful I am that my work was appreciated by so many people that went to @bespoked.cc!

It's the first frame I've ever made and seeing it on those flashy pictures taken by @jweinberg is somewhat unreal.

I present you the OG BALLERN Cycleworks Tracklo Packer aka BALLERN 001. Winner of the 2023 Bespoked best singlesspeed award 🖤

A massive thanks to everyone who was involved in the project, especially @stayercycles who were kind enough to offer me their workshop as a homebase, @quirkcycles for all the advice, @i.draw.on.bikes for the amazing artwork she drew on the frame and everyone who supported me on my journey.

Wow, what was that?!
I'm still blown away by that show (massive shout out to @bespoked.cc ) and all the positive feedback I've received since.
Building bikes can be hard, especially as it usually comes together with little time to actually ride them.
I've been struggling with my decision to build bikes lately, especially in the last few months, as not only did I have my thesis due two weeks before the show, but I also had a bike to build and some organizational stuff to run for Bespoked. So as you can imagine, my time was super limited in the weeks leading up to the show.
Despite this, I was determined to show something new and exciting - something I'd never built before, but was keen to do so.
For my final year thesis, I developed a fixture for full-suspension rear assemblies (which I may do a small pre-order/production run for later this year).
So the decision to build a full suspension MTB was at hand...
After countless phone calls with Paul from @btr_fabrications , I've got my head around how to tackle this project. To lighten my load, he sent me some laser parts and his main pivot shells (RIP Cindy). With these essential parts in hand, I began the building process. A mere 8 days before my flight to Manchester.

I still don't know how I managed it, but somehow I did it!
And I couldn't have done it without the amazing support of @hunt.mountain, @btr_fabrications, @sqlab, @bikeyoke, @schwalbetires, @wizard.works and @garbaruk_components!

Somehow I also managed to win Best MTB for my Ballern Bügeleisen...

I had my first proper ride today, and it feels amazing to be back on a MTB. More of that please!

I've got some ideas for a light and ultra-racing hardtail that I'm currently sketching up. So get in touch if you'd like to own one! I promise it's going to be a fun one!

Bennet's raw Columbus XCR stainless "road-plus" has been built for a two‑meter rider who wants flexibility for future changes?! Quite the challenge, made possible with SRAM RED AXS, ENVE cockpit, SQLab saddle, and HUNT 50 Carbon Disc wheels keeping it fast now, but with tire clearance and geometry that can evolve later, with a different fork. Bespoked Dresden never disappoints for future‑proof thinking. Read more at the link in bio.

A little look back at the chaos 🌪️

The APOCALYPSE Build Off brought exactly the right amount of bad ideas, good people, fast decisions and general mayhem to BESPOKED UK 2026.

It was loud, ridiculous, brilliant - and somehow, against all odds, bikes were built.

Huge thanks to @brothercycles for backing the event and putting so much into making it happen, and to @sentient.works @ballern.cycles for the essential tomfoolery throughout. Exactly the kind of energy we like around here.

Still recovering, honestly.

And huge congrats to APOCALYPSE winners @londonbikestudio

Handgemachte MTBs, innovative Konzepte und echte Hingucker – das ist die Bespoked Dresden 2025.

Die Messe bringt auch dieses Jahr wieder eine spannende Auswahl an Kreativität und Rahmenbau-Kunst in den Dresdner Flughafen. Von stabilen Stahl-Bikes über ungewöhnliche Laufradgrößen bis zu cleveren E-MTB-Prototypen ist viel zu entdecken.

Besonders interessant: Bikes mit 32"-Laufrädern, die laut Herstellern den aktuellen Trend vorantreiben, superleichte Super-Trail-Bikes von Intend oder adaptive Mountainbikes für Rollstuhlfahrer von Reset AMS. Außerdem zeigen unabhängige Rahmenbauer wie Levin, dass Fahrspaß auch mit minimalistischem Setup groß geschrieben wird.
