BEST HEAD BADGE — @ballern.cycles 🏆

A new award for BESPOKED Dresden this year, won by Bennet Janz of Ballern Cycles with a head badge designed by his tattoo artist.

The bike itself was built for a friend of Bennet’s who stands over two metres tall. A road-plus machine made from raw Columbus XCR stainless steel, with a braided carbon seat tube and integrated seatmast.

The idea was to build something fast on the road, with generous tyre clearance and the possibility of adapting the bike as its owner’s needs change.

The stainless steel is left unpainted, with Ballern’s characteristic raw brass fillets visible throughout. A lovely example of Bennet’s approach to metalwork, where the construction is as much a part of the finished bike as the design itself.

Kona Kilauea 1996 ✨

Sleek Columbus steel tubing, Full XTR M950 group, silvery Velocity Cliffhanger rims, White Industries headset, brassy details, custom raw fork, Brooks Swift leather saddle, Magic Components KT handlebars, Nissen cables, Koolstop pads and a sweet front bag support in stainless steel by Ballern Cycles 🤤

This is a complete bike to me in every sense of its meaning, majestic in its feel 🌋

Bennet's raw Columbus XCR stainless "road-plus" has been built for a two‑meter rider who wants flexibility for future changes?! Quite the challenge, made possible with SRAM RED AXS, ENVE cockpit, SQLab saddle, and HUNT 50 Carbon Disc wheels keeping it fast now, but with tire clearance and geometry that can evolve later, with a different fork. Bespoked Dresden never disappoints for future‑proof thinking. Read more at the link in bio.

Hi, here are a few new shots of the GTR 001 front rack mounted my GT paired with the @stridsland_journal Barnacle Lite Fork - great combo. And the rack is nice too.

This is my take on a simple bikepacking front rack. It gives you two extra spots to mount gear right below the main platform - essentially two built-in horizontal cargo cages.

Laser-cut and bent from a single sheet of 4 mm 5052-H32 aluminum. Available either raw-tumbled or in a poppy color I still haven't picked yet.

Head over to @gtr_haelt and follow for upcoming product updates, drop dates, and the shop link as soon as everything goes live.

The bike is the best tool created by mankind and brings together the finest people, @bespoked.cc is proof of that. Endless crazy builds and chilled humans. New and old friends. And a bit of work too. Shot some booth portraits. Now live @theradavist. With a reflection about the show by @paul.kalifatidi. Great meeting you all 🖤

It’s too hard for me to pick the best moments from Bespoked. No photography assignment for me this year—just snapping photos for myself. That’s nice, too. Here are the first favorites; thanks to everyone! :-) @bespoked.cc
