BAMA GETS THE W AGAINST OLE MISS‼️

Alabama was able to hold on and the get the win. Thought Cloer looked really good tonight. They had more size than Ole Miss and I thought it was noticeable. Amari Allen was able to get to the line a lot. London Jemison had a solid game. Jamarion Davis-Fleming was impressive, very active on the glass. Still question how they will consistently generate quality shots at the end of the game but regardless they scored 92 points with turning it over 20 times. Overall it’s good to see them get the win against Ole Miss in their second preseason game.

Amari Allen 19 PTS | 6 REB | 5 AST
London Jemison 13 PTS | 3 REB
Jamarion Davis-Fleming 12 PTS | 4 REB | 19 MIN
Qayden Samuels 12 PTS | 5 REB | 2/5 3PT
Drew Fielder 11 PTS | 10 REB

GAMEDAY‼️

⏰ 8:00 PM/CT
📺 SEC Network
📍 Birmingham, AL

Preseason KenPom Rankings:
Alabama - 9
Ole Miss - 38

Alabama faces Ole Miss in their second preseason game. Bama were able to beat Furman in their first preseason game but no one saw it, so this will be the first game most people will see this new team. Excited to see the lineup combinations Oats and the staff come up with, they have a very versatile team that can give a bunch of different looks. I’m also interested in seeing how Amari Allen looks as he has a chance to be one of the better players in the SEC. For Ole Miss they were able to retain some guys like Pinkins and Kamardine. They also added some solid players through the portal like Adam Clark (Seton Hall), Roman Siulepa (Pitt), and Dasear Hawkins (Saint Joe’s). They probably should be better than what they were last year as Chris Beard enters his fourth year at Ole Miss. Overall it should be interesting to see Alabama plays against a quality opponent in their second preseason game.

Alabama Injury Report:
Aden Holloway (Suspended) - OUT
Anderson Diaz (Elbow) - OUT
Jaxson Richardson (Illness) - OUT

Nate Oats hopes that adding more size can improve their rebounding and defense‼️

At SEC media day Nate Oats told reporters “The emphasis of the offseason was to get bigger, not just taller…we got bigger at the 3 and the 4 spots…hopefully it helps fix the defense and rebounding issues we’ve had.” via Hunter De Siver.

Alabama had issues rebounding and closing out defensive possessions last year. Oats hopes that improving their size at the 3 and 4 spots will improve their rebounding and defense. Being able to play with two bigs then having good positional size on the wing should make a difference in how Alabama rebounds and defends.

ALABAMA BASKETBALL 2026-27 SEASON PREVIEW‼️

Alabama looks to continue their success in the Oats era. They have established themselves as one of the most consistent programs in college basketball. They were able to put together a solid offseason and a competitive roster with their limited NIL budget. Returning three key players like Allen, Holloway and Jemison was one of the bright spots this offseason. Also the freshman class coming in should be a big help, especially if you consider Cole Cloer apart of that class. Overall I think they can be pretty good again and have a similar year to this past season.
