So many mixed emotions as Diego takes flight to LA to pursue his dreams- leaving the 🪹. I’m so incredibly excited for his adulting future, stepping into the unknown in SoCal, where he’s going to blossom through trial and error, crafting his own formula for this life. I hope it’s a happy one, that he finds his tribe, that he stays curious and grounded and connects deeply with other like minded souls and artists, eeking out a living, that provides him sustenance physically and emotionally. It takes courage to step into the unknown- and that’s where the real growth happens. I’ve had the absolute privilege of being his mom for 21 years, and now I hang up that directors 🧢 to be an audience member- forever his biggest cheerleader. He’s taught me how to be a mom, to navigate the intense moments, and understand a generous, kind, and caring young man is not a 🦄 .
Gonna miss him being my local helper, his drop in dinner dates, his calling out “hey momma” from the hall, his bbq skills, cat sitting, music making, personal chauffeur and this last week while I was under the weather 🤧, his check ins and cvs and Pho runs to make sure I was ok. I raised a good one. May he never lose his sense of self and know his beautiful heart will attract a new tribe.
Grateful for all the moments, big and small, his Dec 25th birthday abroad(s), his humor, his analytical mind, his HYPE quality of LFG be it Italy, Palm Springs, Chile, Hawaii, etc . Flying the nest to soar. I get it, I support it and will welcome any and all reunions with zero guilt. May he always remember that family is the soft place you land when the whole world feels against you. Dream big Diego. I love 💗 you to bits.
