Remember summers before screens? 😍 So many great activities to choose from but if you’re nearing the end of the holidays and running out of ideas, here are 3 things I’d recommend to get teens off their phones and using their imagination…

1. Collage Book - the whole family will want to have a go too!
2. Escape Room Game - get their mates round or play as a family. Great for taking on holiday 👍
3. Magic Stitch Kit - reinventing your clothes is a rebellion perfect for teens!

Find all this and more in the shop and on the website. Let’s go for less scroll, MORE SOUL ❤️

HELLO makers, artists and small brands - this one’s for you 👋

We genuinely love discovering new products and stocking brilliant things. So here are a few extra things worth knowing before you reach out...

I know not everyone is a fan of Faire, but if you’re on there, make the most of it. It makes ordering (and reordering) so easy for shops and tbh does make you an easy option straight away.

It is SO great meeting in person at trade shows and markets. Face-to-face conversations and getting to know you and your process really helps us sell your products in store!

And if you’re newer to wholesale, a quick note on pricing - it varies but shops will typically buy at around 50% of your RRP, so make sure your margins work before you start approaching stockists.

Finally, have a good honest look at whether your work is right for the shop you’re approaching. It will save you so much time!

Save this post for reference, and when you’re ready - you know where we are ☺️📩 hello@bambristol.co.uk

PS - Obviously this is how we do things here at BAM but I’ve been on both sides of this so I hope this is helpful wholesale advice in general ❤️ Fellow shop folk - anything you’d add let me know!!

Spooky but make it sustainable 👻🖤

Halloween has landed in the shop, and (Pancake Day aside) it’s my favourite time of year! Scary books, candles, frighteningly good jewellery, ghostly decorations and skeletons on everything. What’s not to love?

The best bit is that all this can be enjoyed again next year, and the one after.

Vicky has put together another gorgeous display of the highlights. Pop in and see it for yourself in Easton, or shop the collection online 🕯️

Hands up if this fills you with nostalgic joy too? 🙋‍♀️👻Lucky I’m not in the shop everyday anymore because I would be very little work getting done! 🫠 Jan Pienkowski’s iconic Haunted House pop-up book is now taking pride of place on the book shelves and clearly it’s too much for me to cope with…

Halloween is in full swing at the shop, so come and see it in person or browse for spooky treats online 🎃

Open in Easton Tue 10-3 | Wed-Sat 10-5 ❤️

Happy National Poetry Day! 🖊️

One of my favourite Langston Hughes poems, worked into a riso print at a @16tonne workshop. It’s sold out at the moment, but this might be the nudge I need to reprint… 👀

Swipe for a few poetry books we love in the shop: John Cooper Clarke, Wendy Cope and Michael Rosen. Could you ask for a better line up of living legends? ❤️

What’s the poem you always come back to?

We’re officially in that sunny but freezing bit of the year, so this display is for you! Gloves for those chilly mornings 🧤Dad caps for when the Autumn sun is aiming directly at your eyeballs 🧢 Big, frilly scrunchies for when the wind gets a little too eager 🎀 Leopard print bag to keep it all in!

October really does require a little bit of everything!

It’s a busy week in the shop too. Trade show orders are arriving (I’m like a child at Christmas 🤗) and new window art is in the works. @paperwallssigns has smashed out another gorgeous design and I can’t wait to see it come to life ❤️ I’ll be in the shop tomorrow and can’t wait.

Come say hi if you’re in Easton!

Top day out at @topdrawerlondon 👍 Which of these goodies are you hoping we bring back to Easton?!

Highlight of the show: the beautiful printing press on the @archivistgallery stand, and finally meeting @cotton.twist in person after stocking them for years. Real things, made by real humans - yes please! ❤️

The shop is already filling up with fun new finds, and lots more on the way over the next few weeks! Open Tues–Sat, and the website’s there for you 24/7 as always 🌞

Have a gorgeous week!

Sending a card is cute ✨ but have you tried popping a tiny extra gift inside? Level up your card with stickers, iron-on patches or our (flat!) leather keyrings and give them a little surprise. No extra postage, just lots of joy when they open the envelope. Which one are you popping in? 👇

This weekend we’re open 10-5 Friday and Saturday so swing by Easton and stock up for your next letter-writing session! ✍️
