We’re grateful to the Golden State Valkyries for showing up, speaking with our community, and continuing to invest in the power of public art. Together, we’re building more than murals. We’re building connection, pride, and community. 🫶🏾🎨

Summer may be over, but the memories we created together will last far beyond the season. ☀️

From our youth programs and mural tours to community events, artist conversations, and everything in between, this summer was made possible because of you.

Thank you to every artist, youth, family, partner, volunteer, donor, and community member who showed up, shared their talents, and supported our initiatives. Your continued support helps us create

spaces where art, culture, and community can thrive.

Here’s a look back at a summer full of mural arts, connection, and community. 🎨✨

Thank you for being part of The BAMP.

✨Public Art Program Project Highlight✨

This week’s Public Art for Private Development highlight features a mural series at The Phoenix, developed by East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC), located at 811 Pine Street in West Oakland. The works include “Pullman Porters: Carrying a Nation” by Timothy Bluitt, “Rise of the Phoenix” by Zoë Boston, and their collaborative piece “Phoenix Feather”. Together, these murals honor the legacy of the Pullman Porters and their role in labor organizing, community building, and the movement for civil rights. The phoenix imagery reflects themes of resilience and renewal that continue to shape West Oakland’s spirit.

Such a special day celebrating the unveiling of the new mural and basketball court at the OK Program of Oakland 💜💛🏀

After all the planning, painting, and community support that went into this project, it was amazing to finally see the finished space filled with OK Program youth, families, community members, and players from the Golden State Warriors and Golden State Valkyries.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped bring this project to life, especially the OK Program of Oakland, Golden State Community Foundation, Warriors, Valkyries, Sherwin-Williams, Creative Sports, our artists, youth painters, and volunteers.

We hope this court and mural give the young people of the OK Program a space they feel proud of for years to come.

Art Clash 2025 🎨🔥

Four rounds. Eight contestants. One finalist.

Had hella fun competing in this and pushing myself creatively. I ended up taking 2nd place to @anthonyisjim , who absolutely killed it and deserved the win.

Big shoutout to @bamp_art for putting this together and creating such a dope space for artists to connect, compete, and have fun. Met some amazing people and had a great time. 🙏🏽🎨 by @bamp_art

Community, creativity, and collaboration in action 💜🎨

This past Friday, we had the opportunity to paint alongside the young men and youth of the OK Program of Oakland, bringing their energy, ideas, and pride directly into the mural being created for their space. It’s always meaningful to create with the community the artwork is meant to represent.

A huge thank you to Sherwin-Williams for sponsoring and supporting this project, and to the Golden State Warriors and Golden State Valkyries for helping make this mural possible.

Today, we continued the work with a handful of amazing volunteers who came out, picked up a brush, and helped us keep the mural moving forward. We appreciate everyone who showed up and contributed to this project! 🙌🏽

More to come as we bring this mural to the finish line 💜💛🏀🎨
