STACK - SEPARATION - SEQUENCE

The Three S’s were a delightful development during this year’s Warhawk Throws campaign and a great guide for our group! These pieces (inspired in part by @rp_throwscoach ‘s 3 Keys) are crucial to setting up a big throw!

Kudos to @bandothrows on an incredible job developing these points in his throw this year! He improved his Discus by a remarkable 8.6m (over 28ft)‼️ A new PR of 46.21m in a breakout sophomore season. Excited to continue growing!

STACK: Stack pivot points - especially the finish! Allows for maximum summation of forces leading to an efficient transfer of energy from the ground up the chain into the implement!

SEPARATION: The bread and butter of the throws! Set up separation with the wind, work the legs ahead of the upper body, and catch the implement DEEP! This massive stretch holding the upper body back while the legs work forward in the opposite direction creates an incredible slingshot reaction (Elastic Potential Energy converted into Kinetic Energy when the brakes are applied in the block…for us nerds)!

SEQUENCE: Stack and Separation are nothing without firing the finish in the correct order! This takes PATIENCE! Working from the ground up with the lower body driving the action allows the thrower to reduce energy leaks and full transfer force into the implement!

Consider using the Three S’s in your training! Keep Going, Go Warhawks! 🟣⚪️

Went to Augie for a last chance to PR, and that I did, after finally getting back to my 45 meter mark last week, I NAILED a 46.21 to take 7th at the meet, lots of promise and good looks of big marks if I don’t scratch them, same story in hammer but I still PRd with a 43.95! #milkshakethatass @t_roz1 taken in Augustana College - Illinois by @bandothrows

A meet too good not to post about, finally got my mark in hammer with a 43.49m and my discus is finally back on track this week with a 42.87m working to get over my 45m PR, lastly shot was shot with a 12.46m throw. I cannot wait to test myself at conference and throw some dih taken in UW-Whitewater Warhawk Track and Field by @bandothrows
