Thank you everyone who came to 'The Librarians' last Thursday! It was incredible to see the community support this very important documentary, learn, and ask questions before and after. It was an eye-opening documentary, and has reinforced how important the freedom to read is.

A very special thank you to the @luxcinemabanff for hosting, Alexandra from the @banffcentre for helping promote and organize, and our Library Board members for advocating, answering questions, and supporting the showing. This event was such a success because of so many!

If you want to learn how you can support the Library, you can check out our Friends of the Library page here 👉 https://www.banfflibrary.ab.ca/About-Us2/support-the-library/friends-of-the-library

📣TRACpac services are back online!📣

You may have already noticed, but TRACpac+ and the TRACpac app are back up and running again. Thank you everyone for your patience with the upgrade!

As the system gets back to normal, there may still be some hiccups; please be aware you may run into some issues.

Some things to keep in mind:
📕 You will need to sign back into your TRACpac app using your credentials (library card barcode number and password) before placing holds and/or viewing your account in the app again.
📗 The system is still updating all of the items that were checked out before or during the outage, and items that were returned shortly before or during the outage. As such, you may have items on your account that were already returned, or items that were checked out that aren't on your account yet. This should resolve soon, but please be patient as the backlog is worked through.
📘 You may receive notifications for holds or overdues that you have already taken out or returned. This is due to the system catching up, and can likely be disregarded, provided the items have been returned. If you are returning an item that was on hold and checked out during the outage, feel free to let us know so we can direct the item on to the next patron.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! Thanks again, and happy reading 📖 by @banffpubliclibrary

🗣️Get LOUD for libraries this Canadian Library Month!

This year, Canadian Libraries Month's theme is Loud for Libraries! Libraries do so much for a community, including offering reading materials for all ages, physical item lending, programming, and offering a space for people to gather with their friends. Libraries are awesome!

In a time when materials and library spaces are facing growing challenges on many levels, it's more important than ever to support your local library. Getting your own library card is the easiest way! You can come in to the Library to register, or begin the process online here 👉 https://www.banfflibrary.ab.ca/Library-Card/Your-Library-Card/register-for-library-card

If you want to support in other ways, there are lots of options: join our Library Board (we currently have a vacancy open!), become a Friend of the Library (learn more below!), learn about some of our programming and physical literacy fundraising goals, or write a letter to your local and/or provincial governments. Share your library love and help ensure your library stays great!

Apply to be part of our Library Board here 👉 https://banff.ca/317/Banff-Public-Library-Board
