I’ve had a blast serving as the Community Engagement Coordinator at the @civic_garden_center these past two years. The team is out-of-this-world cool, and the CGC’s volunteer force is one of the most dynamic groups in the region. I’m moving on to another epic adventure at @theari_inc to further its fundraising and community engagement efforts. If your power level is over 9,000 and you want to claim my old position, see comments!

In the meantime, enjoy some of my favorite CGC moments. 💫 taken in Cincinnati, Ohio by @bar_here

Had a blast celebrating @randireynolds_ for her first Mother’s Day. Ruthie has figured out a way to steal both of our hearts. 🥷💕 If you’re looking for me this is where I’ll be. Thanks @mallory____renee for making everyday moments shine 📸✨ taken in Cincinnati by @bar_here

Last year, @cincinnatimagazine put together a really fun article documenting my journey from being a marketing & sales guy to a conservationist. Despite having several marketing internships in college, I often felt frustrated at my desk because I couldn’t personally connect with the products/services we were promoting.

After graduating, I worked at @curiositycincy for a short time and rubbed shoulders with some wildly creative people. It was there that I learned the power of using creativity for good. Fast forward to now, I “sell” conservation with @b_thekeeper and the @civic_garden_center and am loving life. Take a peek at the article! Thanks to @jeremykramerphoto for the epic Mad Men-inspired Beekeeper shot. taken in Cincinnati, Ohio by @bar_here

WHAM! It’s been over a year since I became the Community Engagement Coordinator @ the @civic_garden_center , and I’m still having a blast.

Most folks think beekeeping 🐝 is responsible for my interest in conservation, but that’s only partially true. One of the first “green” skills I learned was the art of composting 🪱 through the CGC’s Master Composter Program in 2017. From there, I got into native plants, and the rest is history.

IMO we’re the most down-to-earth environmental education nonprofit in the City. But, hey, don’t just accept my blanket statement as fact. Come see for yourself. We always have fun volunteer opportunities and classes on the calendar (link in bio).

We also love donations, if you’re feeling generous.

If you love live music and picturesque natural spaces then whoa boy do we have a treat for you.

The @civic_garden_center has teamed up with @uc_ccm graduates and @queenbeecabaret performers @theromelsims (Trumpet, Chicago-based) and @colinpalmierimusic (Saxophone, Cincinnati-based) to produce an elevated musical experience that enchants the senses and takes guests on an interconnected journey through nature and sound.

Dress in your garden best for this unique adventure amidst the CGC’s urban oasis!

Garden-inspired non-alcoholic beverages will be served.

Doors open at 5pm.

We had a good old fashioned turkey hunt this weekend. Our guest @bar_here from Cincinnati drove up for his first out of state turkey hunt. We had birds gobbling right off the roost, made some adjustments, got in their “bubble” and he was able to capitalize on a nice Jake that came into our set up. A first bird for Brandon, but I can guarantee it won’t be his last. We were also fortunate enough to have @kristinojaniemi_films and @discovertheup along to capture the whole thing on film for us. We can’t wait to see the show soon! Great times, lots of action, and lots of laughs. by @bar_here

2024 marks two years since we installed a pollinator habitat @wcpo9_news with @sustainable_sights!
.
The original area (pictured) only had a mere handful of plant species that bloomed for 2 - 3 weeks of the season.
.
In human terms, that’s like only seeing the sun for a month a year and clouds for the rest.
.
We added a ton of our favorite native plants and the area now blooms from spring through fall, attracting dozens of wild #Pokémon without fail. Be sure to stop by this year to see for yourself!
